And "Amazing Grace" on the pipes. Bagpipes just hit me right in the feels.

I can’t even tell someone what “Sgt MacKenzie” about without getting choked up.  Dropkick Murphys “Green Fields” of France is not far behind.

Ashoken Farewell.

When we carried Mom out of the church that was playing and when we lowered her in the ground after Taps.

Dad wants it played for his recessional as well.

Was going to post this. My daughter got married 18 mos. ago and this was the song she and I danced to. I used to sing it to her when she was little and she’d hold my hand and tell me she’s never leaving her daddy to get married.

It’s getting dusty in here just thinking about it.

Amazing grace, but in Cherokee. Played it at my grandpa's funeral. Can't listen to it without the room getting dusty.

Snak The Ripper - Ashes (Fuck Cancer)

Came on from a Spotify shuffle playlist while driving to work not a week after I lost my Dad to cancer at 63. Cried the whole hour drive.

There’s nothing particularly remarkable about it, but the circumstances surrounding hearing it are etched into my brain.

Girls got a set of pipes. I liked that she kept it original. Little trivia,  Clare Torry improvised it, basically they told her
do it however you want.

Amazing Grace always has, but there are some that get to me because they remind me of Martini Butt (late wife/Linda).

We saw Jessica Simpson in concert, and when she was singing this song, Linda was slow dancing and holding/leaning against me. Since she died, this one always gets me.

Miranda Lambert did a song about loss, and it stuck with me once I paid attention to the lyrics. I used it to set music to a bunch of pics of Linda, in 2018. (Ten year anniversary of her death).

Must listen with headphones or high quality audio system

I grew up close to my cousin Ryan. Until we were 17, and a piece of shit “friend” of his was playing with a shotgun, pointed it at Ryan’s head and pulled the trigger.

This song reminds me of Ryan.

My father was buried at a mountain Baptist church that has been attended by my family for over 150 years. When the bugler played “Taps”, he had hidden himself in the trees around the cemetery and his bugle was pointed at the surrounding hills. The sound echoed between the hills and you really could not tell where it was coming from. I had handled it well up to that point.

“We Belong” by Pat Benatar. The wife that passed away in 2001 loved that song when we would have a little dinner together with the lights low.

Taps, no.

I did hear a lone set of bagpipes playing Amazing Grace one time at a funeral.  It truly moved me. Strange, too because i hate bagpipes.
