Better get rid of the washer and dryer.

I assure you, the innards of either device can be used to create a swift link. Even if one were to gut the devices, the chassis....

Thanks Op for the video. I was thinking it would fire 1-2 times bend up the wire and then jam the gun up.

Ask your buddy to do the 3D printed swift link now if he has the time and a printer.

It needs to have some flexibility. I work with 3d printed items regularly. This is not something that will work well as a printed item. It will break too easily.

I just assumed there were felixable polymers that could be used with 3D printing. Something like the Glock plastic.

Yep.

Pretty sickening that people who call themselves gun owners will go out of their way to help enforce unconstitutional laws which will eventually lead to their own disarming.

No. The disconnector catches the hammer, then the carrier closes, pushing down on the swiftlink. The swiftlink then depresses the tail of the disconnector and releases the hammer.

If it held the disconnector down all the time, it would have hammer follow and light strikes.

Function is the same as a DIAC and closer to a lightning link than a DIAS. DIAC, lightning link and swiftlink all function by manipulating the disconnector in sync with the carrier. DIAS uses M16 internals and holds the back of the hammer until the carrier closes.

@FightingHellfish
DIAS = Drop In Auto Sear
DIAC = Drop In Auto Connector
Swiftlink is the sheet metal version of this coat hangar conversion.

You mention DIAS and DIAC. I have never seen anyone use the term DIAC. Are you referencing a device that hasn't been mentioned yet.

We have the drop in auto sear, lightning link, and Swift link ( the coat hanger is a swift link just made from a different material as far as I am concerned )

Is there a 4th device that hasn't been mentioned?

Drop In Auto Connector, pretty much the body of a Dias- but instead of catching the hammer it has a leg that sticks down and pushes on the disconnector.

Multiple times. Thread gets nuked every time.

Which, frankly, I don’t understand. If it’s legal for a class 2 sot to do it, what’s so bad about a picture? Plenty of other pictures online and on this website which could be illegal depending on who does what.

yeah a 3D printed jig would be pretty cool for a SOT to design. He could sale the jig to other MFGs and let them bend up their own "Temp Links" for temporarily testing FA on various lowers and upper combos without having to do and real hard machining or modifications.

That M2 is a lot faster than you would expect after shooting a standard M1. For such a soft shooting gun, it is crazy fast.

Made one from steel strapping (about 0.026" thickness).

Video to come from Greasy.

Works as good as a DIAS, but tuning it is different. An interesting toy for sure.

It was a different upper and lower. Lots of variables there.
