Hy-vee + suppressor = Where the hell are you? NFA in Iowa? I'm stumped
A few years ago I did roughly the same thing with beef, but simmered in water with herbs. added BBQ sauce, then 2 or 3 shots of Laphroiag instead of liquid smoke. A friend of mine asked if I had bought a smoker. Laphroiag > liquid smoke. We have HyVees in MO and KS. My favorite grocery store also (I hate those stupid cards Price Chopper has you have to carry around to get the bargain prices on stuff) |

Crock Pots are your friend
I use them for Beans, Soups , Stews and Even Roasts. Beans are the Best 1 lb Beans 1 lb sausage (Deer is the best) Onions to taste some Italian dressing and about 1 cup Long grain rice. Mix it all up except the rice Cover with water Let it cook over night for about 8 hours Add water as needed about the last 4 hours add the rice so it can cook Corn bread and your eating GOOD Soups are good too but don't add noodles till right at the end, last hour or two You can guess how I found that out, still tasted good Need to work on a Chili recipe for the Pot |

That was excellent!! Love the countertop wipe.
Thanks!! |

No No No No NO NO Massive amount of fail. If all you're interested in is producing a tender piece of meat, why don't you just stew your steak next time too and call it good? ![]() That's right. You wouldn't. Nirvana is a crusty outside with a bark that comes from SMOKING the meat. Oh - and In Before Photokirk. |

Quoted: I love good pulled pork. I just find too often they put too much BBQ sauce in with the meat. Gets to be waaaaay too salty and kills the taste. I will try your recipe. Serve BBQ sauce on the side - never mix it into the meat. That way, everyone gets exactly how much they want. |

Zhukov, How do you feel about heating BBQ sauce that is to be served on the side? Around here many people serve it cold (as in it was just in the refrigerator). I think that it is much better when heated and bitch whenever someone tries to pawn off some of their crappy chilled sauce on me. |

I think that it is much better when heated and bitch whenever someone tries to pawn off some of their crappy chilled sauce on me. Never thought much about it. If you think it's better, I will have to try it next time. Now that I thought about it for a few minutes, I remember having been to a few places that had their BBQ sauce heated, and you're right - it does taste better now that I think about it... |

I think it has something to do with the cold greatly decreasing the intensity of the fat soluble flavors. I might be over thinking it though. ![]() |

I have a baby crock pot that I use for my BBQ sauce when I cater. |
