UPDATE near bottom of Page 7.
There isn't nearly enough money, as several astute members have pointed out. Summary here: https://www.consumer.ftc.gov/blog/2019/07/equifax-data-breach-pick-free-credit-monitoring?utm_source=govdelivery Original post follows. I got an email from the Federal Trade Commission this morning. It says the settlement in the class-action suit for their major data breach has been finalized. Here's the link to the page that directs you to instructions for determining whether you are eligible, and how to file a claim. (I'm getting $125 cash.) Link fixed I hope. https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement/cases-proceedings/refunds/equifax-data-breach-settlement |

The form is simple and explains everything. You have three options: 1. Free credit monitoring, 2. $125, or 3. If you can document actual damages and/or time spent, up to $20,000. Thanks OP! got me $125, now need to have the wife check to see if she qualifies for it too.
I read it as:
1) you get free credit monitoring 2) if you already have credit monitoring, you can request $125 3) if you can show damages, you can get more money. |
Sweet. I'm getting $125.
That's not a lot of hookers and blow but still some. |

Quite BS that they cap a date on it.
What if my info is still out there and just has not been used yet. So I am ok now but 3 years from now I'm dealing with the crap because of them. Total BS |
Thanks op. Just checked and not eligible. Anyways I still have “free” credit monitoring anyways from the government data breaches.

A website where you put in your name and last 6 of your social?
(The first three digits are discoverable) |

I love that they can have my credit info without my consent, fuck up my life and I have to fight to get it restored, and then I get back a whopping $125
$250 for us. Our crap has been out there for years already thanks to OPM retards
Caution is warranted, but I have seen confirmation from multiple sources that the page is legitimate.
Thanks op got 125 coming my way. Sucks it had to happen but I can see 125 bucks of more 556 ammo in my future
Yeah, the last 6 digits is some janky hanky panky. My critical eye zeroed on that shit ricky tic.

When will I get my benefits?
The settlement administrator will not send out any benefits until they are allowed to do so by the court, which will be January 23, 2020, at the earliest. We will update this page, and send email updates, when we have more information. View Quote Looks like they are having server issues for some strange reason. I guess people like free money and stuff. This website is under heavy load (queue full)
We're sorry, too many people are accessing this website at the same time. We're working on this problem. Please try again later. View Quote |

My info was compromised. I wonder if I should get the monitoring or collect 125$
Not impacted. I could have really used $125
I never win anything......... |

Part and parcel of joining in a class action settlement is that you forfeit your standing to sue separately from the settlement. If something actual comes up later...you've already settled with, and been compensated for your damages by, the Respondent. That said, with my credit monitoring, I feel confident that any nefarious use of my data would be immediately brought to light...so I signed on for my $125.00 check. ETA: Thanks, OP!
