I made this with Knipex bolt cutters. Cut each ring, 12 and 14 gauge steel wire.

I remember a thread here like 8 years ago that got me interested. Can't find it now.

This is just for fun. Butted maille, not riveted like traditionally made, but not as labor intensive.

This is a good place for patterns and instructions.

This.

Don't blame HF because you decided to Mongo the tiny lockcutters beyond their stuctural ability.    No mechanical object is magic.

Lets see a picture of what you cut?

Are you trying to set a record for the worlds tiniest bolt cutters?

I used an HF bolt cutter to make an AK riveting tool.

This! I got my last trunion rivet smashed when it broke. Threw it in the trash. Thankfully it gave up the ghost after I was done with it.

What did you try to cut with it? I'm withholding judgment until a pic is posted.

I used my HF bolt cutters every day for cutting security bolts, seals and locks off intermodal trailers.
The really good padlocks would dent the jaws a little.
I cut a 3/8 grade 8 bolt one time that the guy standing beside me saw go over the top of the 2 story building across the street.
That one put a little flat spot on the jaws.

I have one of their angle grinders that I bought back around 2004, I use it all the time, the wheel is getting worn down and I haven't been able to kill it yet.  I've gotten my $18.00 worth out of it.

It took you 10 years to wear out one grinding wheel?

The red grinder, which is frequently on sale for $19.99, is a beast.

The dark blue paddle-switch one has been good, but I haven't owned it for as long, so I don't have the experience to say the same about it.

Each grinder also comes with a spare set of brushes.  There's nowhere to get another set though, so replace them once, then you have to throw the tool away.
