The P22 is one of, if not the BIGGEST piece of junk in existence.  So whatever you do, don't go that route.  They are worse than a jennings by a large margin.  If someone recommends a P22, don't listen to a single word that they say in the future.

Yeah. My 16 year old daughter's P22 is a total piece of shit. It took some light dremel polishing on some internal bits to make it smooth and more reliable. It only has a few thousand rounds through it so it is bound to break any minute now. It's terrible to shoot because you can almost always tell where the bullets will hit. It's inconsistent too. Sometimes the bullets will hit just outside of where I know I was aiming. It's tiny and barely fits in my paw. It's so small only a little girl would take any pleasure shooting hundreds of rounds at a go.  Yup. Avoid the P22.

Walther makes some damn fine pistols,  but the P22 ain't one of them and they would be smart to make the manufacturer remove their name/licensing.

My P22 target with compensator (why the fuck it needed a comp I'll never know) was the biggest pos shit I've ever owned and the one gun I don't regret selling.

Tough decision, but these are probably my two favorite .22's . . .

After shooting Rugers for decades, than a S&W victory, and than within the past year switching to Buckmarks, I'd have to say the buckmark gets the nod from me.

Out of the box, it (the buckmark) is hands down the best of the three.  With the other two people end up spending hundreds of dollars getting those pistols to shoot better, thats not needed with the buckmark IMO.  Wish I had discovered it years ago.

My favorite pistol to shoot is my Ruger SR-22.

Most bulk ammos run reliable and very low recoil noticed.

The "close second" choice when I was looking for a new .22 plinker pistol was the MP compact. I chose the Ruger SR-22 in the end. Settling factor was my bad experiences with a MP Bodyguard .380.

I would say my Ruger MKII bull barrel except it's difficult to disassemble and clean.  It will shoot ragged one hole groups at 20 yards with a red dot sight and a good rest.

Clean it more.

With some practice it can be done in under a minute.

Agreed, I shoot mine at the 50 yard bench for shuts and giggles. Vortex Venom red dot is all I've added.
My Ruger SR22 is a fun shooter also and would recommend it too.

That said, I've got a M&P .22 that's don't quite well so far.

Buckmark.  TacSol barrel and Spectre II optional.  They definitely made the Buckmark a lot more fun, though.

man, I really want to know how you got a can on your Wolverine. I have both the Oly copy as shown in your pic, plus an original. Both great shooters and natural pointers once you figure out what ammo they like.

The other one I'll recommend is the Model 41. Try to find a vintage one if you can, they have a better rep than current production.

My favorite is a mkII/paclite combo with a Volquartsen kit,
AAC element 1.5, and aimpoint micro dot.

If I were in the market for a 22 today it would be a ruger mk or 22/45
