Lately I've on a Columbo kick, can't get enough. Just one more thing... View Quote I watch Columbo pretty much whenever I know it's on. My dad used to really like it, so I watch it partly for the nostalgia and the memories, but I also watch because its just a good show. I used to like Mannix, Cannon, Rockford files, Streets of San Francisco, Hawaii 5-0, and some of the others as well - but none as much as Columbo. |

Joe Friday is my hero, he sounded like he smoked 5 packs a day and he was a boss

Harry O was a series cut short by the death of the main character - David Janssen. View Quote Actually, it was cut short because Fred Silverman dropped it to pick up Charlie's Angels. And Harry O's neighbor and sometime girlfriend was cast as one of the Angels. His neighbor and sometime girlfriend was Farrah Fawcett. |

The most realistic police detective show in my opinion, as far as the calls they handled, was Barney Miller and the men of the 12pct. Having said that, even though they are campy now, shows like Dragnet and Adam-12 made me want to be a cop.

Remember Bruce Wilis and Cybill Sheperd in Moonlighting..? How bout Bruce Lee and James Franciscus in Longstreet..? View Quote Longstreet was great, because he was blind the whole time. Plus he fought those damn dirty apes. But Mannix? Yeah, when I was a kid, I used Mannix up the neighborhood. Driving my Big Wheel beyond its limits and on the very edge of control, pulling my (cap) pistol at the drop of a hat, jumping over shit and running flat out in pursuit of "the bad guys", and getting chicks (kissing them on their cheeks, or occasionally on their lips). Yeah, Mannix. |
