Footage shows the aftermath of a three-car smash in California on Friday, which left a Ferrari sliced in half.
Ferrari Split In Half After High Speed Crash | Orange County Robert Nicoletti, a 71-year-old retired dental salesman from Orange County, was killed when his red Ferrari crashed into a silver Mazda SUV and a blue Toyota. The other two drivers were unharmed. Police said they do not believe alcohol was involved, but high speed could have been a factor, as Nicoletti's Ferrari accelerated to prevent a Tesla behind from overtaking. The crash happened in Santiago Canyon, near the town of Silverado in the hills above Los Angeles. California Highway Patrol said they were called around 3:40pm. They found a scene of shocking devastation, with the cars mangled and smashed - and the 2015 Ferrari cut in two. Debris scattered the road, and dirt thrown up from the hillsides. The Mazda and Toyota were damaged in the front, but the Ferrari was almost unrecognizable. The Tesla did not stop. More |

My old man does television repair, and he's got this ultimate set of tools!

What does a Ferrari cost? Crazy for anyone to spend that kind of money on a frickin car that holds two people when I could buy any number of other trucks that actually carry and haul a useful load and still have money left for more guns and ammo and hookers.

Probably caused by old tires.
Looks like a no passing lane on a curve. |

Well, the last thing I remember, Doc, I started to swerve
And then I saw the Jag slide into the curve I know I'll never forget that horrible sight I guess I found out for myself that everyone was right Won't come back from Dead Man's Curve |

Screeching through the pearly gates in an exploding Italian supercar? There's worse ways to go at 71.

Ferrari California? Not too much of a tragedy. If it was a 599, F12tdf, SF90, etc it would have been a really sad story.

Pretty sure the ME is going to make that call on driver impairment.

Seems unwise to not stop in a tesla.
I'm sure they can just pull the timestamp and identify all teslas in the area at the time, then find the one traveling at the right speed in the proper direction and have a look at his black box camera recordings. |

Investigators will have a tough time putting a specific person in the driver seat if the driver invokes. |

The article got the make of the car wrong; it's actually a Corvette. I have been assured many times in GD that old people drive Corvettes, not Ferraris.

Quoted: WTF do people do this? Who cares if someone wants to pass? Don't be a dick and just wave them by and go about your day. View Quote "Tesla did not stop..." Not normal passing, sounds like a little impromptu road race. I've known a surprising number of dentists who bought Harleys late(er) in life. Something about a dull, structured (but well compensated) life working on people who hate coming to see you seems to drive a lot of them to semi-dangerous bucket lists. |

That Ferrari stood no chance against a Tesla especially if it was a Plaid model.
