How do you run lot of oxygen that fast? Surely they have O2 candies. Carbon monoxide poisoning maybe?

I am skeptical of this story, though I have have read that both Russia and China sometimes use protected waters (including with netting or mines) to house their boomers. Maybe this SSN might have been assigned to patrol such an area and experienced a mishap.
