What's stopping someone from physically disabling the safety mechanism? Is it a piece that moves into place that allows function or something that's moved out of the way that can be disabled with a Dremel? |

All that's going to happen is these weapons will get stolen, then the thief will jump onto the internet and search for "How to bypass fingerprint thing on xxxx" and there will be a thousand sites detailing exactly how to do so. Or they'll just figure it out themselves. (And then post it on the internet)
Ultimately, a firearm is just a tube where a spring loaded pin smacks a primer when given the opportunity, everything else attached to that is irrelevant. Even if you switched to electronic fired cartridges, that's still just (another) google search and a few parts from aliexpress to get around. It's not the 80's any more, where the encyclopedia Britannica was considered a vast swath of knowledge - we live in a world of freely available information now, and need to live accordingly. |
