For example, I like gefilte fish.   I dont think I hever ever known a non Jew who liked it and hell, most Jews dont like it.    It certainly is not common and it does have an unusual taste.

For another, most people do not like circus peanuts. I love them.

So, what do you like that most people do not?

I wouldn't say I love it, but I don't turn down durian.

Many people appear to be against eating any type of monkey. It's not bad.

I am a big fan of lengua.

I really like it.   I don't understand why people don't like congealed pig's blood, with raisins, sugar and cinnamon.

My wife has steadfastly refused to even try it.

On the mexican side of things, I like mole de pollo a lot, and have heard other people say they hate it.

Also like a lot of very hot/spicy foods.

I really love Thai chicken curry, and I have places make it as hot as they can fix it.

I eat the first 3 posts, after that, revolting at best.

I like:

Haggis
Any form of raw beef
All sushi except for sea urchin and cuttle fish
Pork cooked medium rare
All tinned fish
Raw clams, oysters, whelks, etc.
Vegetable cream cheese on a chocolate doughnut

You posted after I started writing, mole is amazing.

Hard to find in TN, pretty common around Boston.

Mashed potatoes mixed with kale and ham, butter and salt.

Tomato soup with hamburger, nutmeg and black pepper. ( I think most people like this but few people have tried it.)

Maybe, I have a thing for sweet/savory combos.

Also like smoked salmon cream cheese on brown sugar bagels.

There was a restaurant in Rockport MA, the chef made a broiled fish dish with banana slices that was out of this world.

I've liked every Jewish food I've ever tried. It cleared up some of the mystery when I submitted my DNA to government analysis and Chinese resale 23andme and found out there was some Ashkenazi and Slavic heritage hanging around in there.

I started making some Jewish foods with my daughter this year as she loves to cook. For some reason wife or son won't touch our matzo ball soup

My personal submission: beets and everything beet related. I can't believe how many people just flat out hate beets. One of my favorite healthy snacks is just a nice scoop of pickled beets.

Fuck those circus peanuts though.

eta: found out a couple years ago that Filipino Dinuguan is delicious.. but I'll take a rain check on the chunks of lung

Y’know, we spent months sailing across a vast ocean, decades fighting wild indians and stood against tyrants to found a whole new country just so we didn’t have to eat stuff like that.

If you ever wanted to chase me away from the Seder table all you had to do was put that plate in front of me. I don't care how many chocolate covered macaroons you tried bribing my ass with. Now, over a half century later I'd punish that shit (you just gotta swap out that red for white).

I've had Korean blood sausage which is glass noodles and pigs blood with seasoning in a casing. Delicious AF.

Also hate when I got to get some pho and ask if the bun bo hue has blood and they go no... Fuck off and give me chunks of pigs blood...

Colliflower and broccoli as hummus delivery mechanisms
Rice cake for cottage cheese delivery
Raisins, peanuts, and parmigiano-reggiano as a trail mix

These aren't so weird in themselves, but more due to how much I like them.

@neshomamench I've actually had some good gefilte recently, but it wasn't the jarred Manischewitz stuff from the grocery store.  Not sure if i was home made or imported ("imported" from outside Alabama ).

There are two types of mole:

Mole that is indescribably delicious.

Mole that tastes like absolute shit.

I love the first kind and the best place to get it is in Peubla.  I will try mole, but have seldom found good mole outside of Mexico.  It’s a time consuming dish to prepare and difficult to get right.
