No, not really.

I was surprised it was built on a VW Beetle chassis when I looked up the picture.

But, to a 10 year old kid in 1984, it was absolutely the coolest car.

Pontiac engines have been out of production for over 40 years now, and as time goes on, the number of people who have experienced a proper Poncho have dropped.

The amazing thing about them is the level of aftermarket support available to such an old platform. You can build one entirely out of aftermarket parts, including the engine block. That isn't a thing because they suck.

A properly built Pontaic is a beautiful beast.

I would take either one, but if I could pick it would have to be the Bandit TA.  Only because some woke ass fucker would damage the General Lee if you ever took it out.

I actually saw a General Lee last week and was hoping the guy driving it didn't park it anywhere it could get vandalized

Back in like 1982 one of my friend's got a TA that looked like that.

Prior to that he had a 240Z.

He was a mechanic so he knew his cars.

As much as I love them Duke boys and most especially Daisy. Bandit hands down. T-Tops for the ladies to stand up and show off their goods while hauling ass down the road. Plus the doors open on the Bandit mobile.

Also, Jerry Reed > Waylon.

In my youth everyone that found a Charger painted it orange and 2nd gen Firebirds were usually only found in methbilly trailer parks and is never not going to be a mailaise-era car. B-bodies are crazy right now, no thanks to Graveyard Cars, and are definitely worth more, even if a good paint job will cost you 10 grand.

Trans Am is a rust bucket that leaks with the T tops. Friend had one, 6.6 liter engine, 8 track tape player and Jensen in the rear deck. That car would go. Always had problems with T tops and 4 years later the rear glass was rusted out bad.
