I had family serve on both sides. I was born in KY.
That said, this post reminds me of an ANTIFA and BLM post. Just because you do not like history. You want to tear it all down and burn it. As a nation, we are supposed to embrace our past and learn from. Right or wrong, we own it. It should not be destroyed just because you don't like it. There were atrocities committed by both sides. Confederate's Andersonville, was the deadliest landscape of the Civil War with a 28% death rate. Of the 45,000 Union soldiers imprisoned here, nearly 13,000 died Union's Camp Of the 12,122 Confederates held at Elmira, 2,933 would never return home. Unions Camp Elmira’s death rate of 24% was the highest of any Union prison camps, and that's just one of several camps. If things do not change, I predict there could be another CW. All you've got to do is listen to the left wing Socialist dictatorship demonize half of America as being evil and waiting to destroy America. I seriously doubt there will be prisoners of war camps this time around. It'll be a black flag event. Those items belong in a war museum. I despise Andrew Jackson who was involved with the creation of the Democratic Party and broke all treaties with the native Americanswho helped defeat the Britishduring the Revolutionary War. That Americans knew even back then the Democratic Party would be the downfall of America. Should we burn down Andrew Jackson's the Hermitage in Old Hickory Tennessee. No of coarse not.  |

We didn't burn historical items from then. War is War if you fight you must be the meanest you can be and do what ever it takes to win. My ancestors tried to get to Washington DC. I wonder what would have happened if they succeeded. But again I see the same thing that happened Back then, happening today. The division is so great that it absolutely can not be fixed through voting either party out. The animosity and hatred today is to great. This is what happens when history is erased. It repeats it's self. So you folks that want to burn Sherman's historical artifacts more power to you. Just add them to the pile of other historical things that Democratic Socialist dictatorships has erased already. To the historical artifacts that ANTIFA and BLM has destroyed already.
