From my research and study, they may not have been there right after the birth.  It could have been a few years after his birth.  I personally believe he was born in the spring sometime in April.  It's fitting for Christ to be born in the spring when new life is abundant.  He is new life to believers.

I dunno if I said this here, but the first Adam was created on 1 Tishri, and the 2nd Adam was born on the same day. We know this day a Rosh Hashanah.

Nope, not at all, but posting religious themed threads here don't get anything but butthurt.  Knowing that, a person who posts religous themed threads here do it to troll.

It's kind of like posting about working out in GD. You might get some discussion, but you also get pissing matches and people calling guys that lift pussies because they don't throw hay bales instead.

If you want to ensure actual discussion without the background noise, you go to the fitness sub forum.

Well...

The God Botherers do have their own safe space where this kind of discourse isn't allowed. Maybe they should stay there, if self-congratulatory praise from the Fellow Faithful is what they seek.

Edit: BR76 knows full well what he's doing, of that you can be sure.

In that case, if he's just trolling then why do you bother "feeding the troll"?

They hate God or the idea of Him so they can't help themselves. They love to to insult Christianity any chance they get. I've noticed it's always the same guys over and over.

Sad really.

The title of the thread is clearly Christian in nature. If you don't like it, don't click on it. Pretty simple.

I don't hate god or gods at all.  Though I see folly in the belief without evidence and find the concept weak minded.

I do HATE what religion has done to humanity.

I'm referring to what the Bible actually says, not what the Op says, because the remarks (in the quote) that I was responding to are incorrect. If the person quoted wants to make remarks about god and Jesus he should at least be making remarks that are based on what the source (the Bible) says.

Religion has done nothing to harm humanity. Man's distortion and abuse of religion to his own ends has abused humanity. At least religion from the Christian perspective. I know little about Islam, Hinduism, Animism, or many of the other religions. I also know and understand how Catholicism has distorted the Bible for it's own purposes as has other "forms" of Christianity. This isn't the fault of Christianity. Just the distortions caused by man's manipulation of the Bible. Don't blame religion for man's abuse of religion. That's short sighted and, as you commented, "weak minded."

Since religion IS man-made, I think that the other guy had a fair point. Playing the "don't blame religion for wickedness done in its name"-card, when many texts from the three Abrahamic religions implore their Faithful to commit atrocities in the name of said religions, is disengenious at best, or an outright lie.

What I stated was true in the opening post, if it's not, please provide proof it isn't.

Matthew 1:23 Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

John 14:9-10 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

John 1:1-14 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

John 1:31-35 And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Matthew 1:18-24 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a public example, was minded to put her away privily. But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him. And took unto him his wife: and knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

There are plenty of other verses describing Jesus and who He is.

Sin came into the world through Adam and passed to every human being born through their father. Jesus Christ's father was God Himself, so no sin was passed to Him.

Some say Jesus fulfilled over 300 Old Testament prophecies. I'm not sure as I haven't counted them all myself.

I agree about faith. However OldPainless, sometimes God does things for a man, or to Him, where he is so amazed that his faith and belief transform into a knowing in his heart. That has happened to me on more than one occasion. I know in my heart and mind that God exists and His Son is Jesus.

But back to the topic at hand, it seemed someone was questioning what I said in the opening post. I posted the above comments on this page due to this the below quotes, although I'm pretty sure he may have been referring to another poster who quoted me:

The scriptures are the proof that what I stated is correct in the opening post.  I was not referring to scientific evidence.

However, you bring a good point up. Evidence is all around us. Not to mention the Bible says that every man knows in his heart that God exists.

Romans 1:20 - For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.

Psalm 19:1-4 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

Psalm 14:1 The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God’.

ErikS, I agree with you that men and religions are evil. If a religion isn't leading you to Christ then it is evil.

Religion saves none. There is only one God and the only way to be saved is through His Son Jesus Christ.

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

I'd say that man has done those things.  Not Religion.  But if you want to say that because something is taught in Christianity it is religion, and we either benefit or suffer for these things, you must also include the United States of America as something religion gave us, as our current system of government is modeled after the Presbyterian form of government.  And our transcendental moral law. ( no I'm not saying that non Christians lack morals). What about the American Revolution? That's what we called it...know what it was called by the British? The Presbyterian Revolt.  Because it was Christians who were leading it.  Pastors preaching and then leading their congregations in battle.  So those things came about because of Christian religions.  Or to be more precise, men, who followed Christian religions.  Can I make a list of horrific events caused by non believers? Yes.  I will not argue that people are perfect, or that only Christians can do things that benefit society.  I will also not defend the actions of Christians who do misguided things.  However these are men doing these things.  And we live in a fallen world.
