Allright.
There are 100's (but probably not 1000's) of AR-10s there. LOTS of various bolt actions. Quite a few M-1 carbines, some Garands and I even saw a few Johnsons. Lots of ammo as well. I'm working on the import stuff. Got a weird call though. My Moroccan contact at their embassy wants me over for lunch tomorrow, but he told me not to talk about it with Felipe at all. Hmmmm. |

I did see some Chinese AK's, but the AR-10's are not Chinese. |

Ok, so I got to see some stuff today. Definately AR-10s down here along with other stuff. Felipe was watching me like a hawk today but I snuck a couple of pics as we were going onto the airbase. http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb171/sherrick13/cuba11.jpg http://i206.photobucket.com/albums/bb171/sherrick13/Cuba12.png I'm really tired and we have a big day tomorrow, so I'll have to finish the write up later. Looking for Col. Jessep on the wire: "I eat breakfast 300 yards from 4000 Cubans who are trained to kill me". Ed |

It is like the country is stuck in a 1990 Soviet satellite time warp. |

What's the weather been like , temp-wise ? It must be about perfect if you can factor out the rains .
I'm jealous , I'd love to sample some of Cuba's lifestyle for a few days |

I told y'all before its as easy as getting the stuff to a country that the us allows imports from
Plenty of other weapons from embargoed grops and countries have made it in this way historically. |

Can you import firearms from a country they did not originate in? I'm pretty sure the answer is no or at least was no back when the 1994 AW ban was in effect. I'm not sure if the two are connected. You will still have to get the ATF to sign off on everything. That will be the biggest challenge. They have also been known to sign off on paperwork and then when the product arrives seize it and arrest the owners claiming they committed some sort of fraud. So watch your step. |

The recent Type 53 Mosins that were imported originated in China. But they weren't imported from China. Besides, much of what I'm looking at ORIGINATED in the United States. |

On a related topic regarding Cuba, the Bacardi distillers have celebrated their 150th anniversary this month. They began in Santiago de Cuba in 1862, and in 1960 the bearded socializmos seized their property without compensation. These "gusanos" have had the last laugh; Barcardi is possibly the largest group of distilleries on the Planet; privately traded in proper Capitalist fashion, of course!

What's the deal with not being allowed to take pics of anything down there?

SHIT JUST GOT REAL!!!! So, I go to the Moroccan embassy (they sent a car) and Felipe MUST go along, but he can't go in the embassy. I meet with my wife's friend and in comes an American. He shows me some CIA creds and says he is a former Po po from NYPD and starts talking shop (he knows all about me). Then he says they are REALLY interested in some shit on that base and wants me to help him. He tells me he might be able to grease some wheels for me with State and Customs. |

Real as it gets bro! Your a spy now...watch your corn hole lol
