I have many wimpy flares all the time, and these occasionally go bad, so I can't really say. Fish and meat a day apart are a danger, though.

Dehydration has been my absolute worst cause yet.

Stress I believe was the other culprit.

Question for guys who have had gout for years. What's your sign of a gout attack? Just toe or joint pain? Or something else.

For me, it always manifests in my right big toe. Starts off as stiffness, then swelling, redness, and finally pain.

I literally have no idea.

I’ve had gout flare ups for over a decade, and have NO IDEA what triggers them.

It’s not alcohol
It’s not beef or red meat.
It’s not BBQ pork.
It is not lobster/seafood.

I also have no trigger foods.

It’s genetic.

No specific foods for me, although certain foods helped recover more quickly.

For me after years of experimenting, it became clear that dehydration, and a Vitamin D deficiency may have been the conspirators. Since I have addressed this, I havent suffered an attack for almost 2 years. Normally I would have an attack every 3-4 months.
