Just when he thought it was safe to go in the water... Terrifying moment great white shark rises just like Jaws and smashes through dive cage - missing diver by inches
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11046051/Terrifying-moment-great-white-shark-rises-just-like-Jaws-smashes-dive-cage.html

Shocking underwater footage showed that expert diver Jimi Partington was lucky to escape the attack
He was floating somewhere in the Pacific Ocean inside a small opaque protective diving cage
The shark first appeared more interested in fish in the water, but soon turned its attention to the diver
Lunging from below, the 16-foot beast capsized the floating cage, tipping Partington into the water
He was forced to frantically swim for his life back to the boat, before the shark could catch him in the water

So, gluing together some plexiglass and presenting yourself as bait to one of nature's most dangerous predators wasn't a good idea?

Just waiting to hear this dude and Ocean’s name in a news article stating they have been fatally bitten by a Great White shark.  Not that I want them to die.  Just the old play stupid games win stupid prizes thing.

Getting eaten by a shark is like having your parachute not open and going splat. You have to sign up for that.

My name is not on either list.

No way I’d be in that water. I’m sure if he had been killed it would’ve been blamed on the shark not the idiot baiting it.

That "cage" doesn't look very protective to me. But I'm no marine biologist.

Looks more like a 'dive baggie" than a "dive cage",

That poor shark was totally not expecting that polycarbonate.  Poor fucker probably thought, "Hey, I'll catch some fish, breech the surface, and it'll be all cool."  That had to have hurt.

Somewhere in the Pacific Ocean - that really narrows it down

My guess is off Mexico.  I ran into a friend this afternoon who was headed there in the next few days to dive with sharks but said the trip got canceled by the Mexican government and he wasn't too hopeful about getting a refund.  Now I'm a bit of an adrenaline junky, but my friend makes me look like Mr. Rogers.  He does crazy hikes, climbing and repelling his way into hectic spots and got put on search and rescue due to his abilities.

When he was telling me about it and how some company out of San Diego had been doing it since the 90s with no attacks, he could probably register the reaction on my face.  I wouldn't want any part of that 5hit show.  Sharks?  Mexico?  Lol, hell no!

This.  I look forward to it.

Even the jackass crew were entertaining.

The shark week participants definitely push the envelope when diving with these monsters.
