In no particular order
Hendrix - his breakthrough style, putting holes in speaker for distortion, influence on everyone else Jimmy Page - dude is great and inspired everyone Tommy Iommi - not the greatest picker, but dammit that guy started metal Van Halen - not a huge fan, but his style, speed and influence surely puts him up there Roy Clark - this man does not get enough credit to what a guitar badass he was Nuno Bettencourt - my personal favorite, just amazing tone, speed, harmony, uniqueness |

Yngwie Malmsteen can play circles around every other name that'll be listed in the thread. His music style isn't the greatest. And most of his songs just become watching him show off with sweep picking arpegios. |
