Quoted: I'm in the process of doing rust repair on my beater VW Baja ranch runner. Rather than just do a simple bed liner paint job I thought I'd have some fun with it and do her up in Gulf Blue and Orange. What pattern? All blue with orange fenders and lower 1/3 side? All blue with orange "stingray"? Solid orange or solid blue is still a possibility. View Quote @tombr0 It’s not a road car. I use it like most people use a side by side. It hasn’t been tagged in about two decades. Does that meet with your criteria? |

View Quote Over and above effort. Thanks very much for this. Seeing that, I’m thinking... Less orange on the hood. Blend the orange on the front scalloped edges into the fenders. Run the center line over the cowl, roof, and down the back. Connect the front and rear fenders with an orange stripe down low on the body. Navy blue stripe between the orange and blue. The curvature of that hood detail may be a little tough for me to make smooth. |

It’s not to my taste though. |

As much as I like the Gulf livery, I like authenticity.

Then start trying to lay out lines to bring orange on the hood and sweep into a roof stripe. |
