Me and some friends were going to a friends house after getting lunch. I was driving the third car in our line of four. I look to my left and see this punk troublemaker that I went to highschool with. He starts flippin' all of us off and a couple of my guys do the same to him. We then get to a red light at an intersection, and this dumbass gets out of his car and pops his trunk to grab a handgun and starts waiving it all over the place. This was in the middle of the day at a crowded intersection with probably 30+ witnesses. We're on the far right lane so we all high tail it out of there and make a right-on-red turn (with some serious lag time by the way). I'm under 21 so no CHL for me and I didn't have a firearm in the car with me. I was honestly pretty scared for my life and my car was right next to his when he pulled his firearm. Friend's house was about 2 minutes away from the intersection so I wait till we get back there to call the cops. I happen to know that this guy has a record with a bunch of priors also, and I let 911 know where it happened and the guy's name. They said that they'd put out an alert for him. These situations make me really wish that the CHL age would be lowered to 18...

I think your post count and join date is what put you in danger.

When you get your CHL, don't be flipping people off. It's not a license to act like a jackass. Quite the opposite actually. |

Yes, much better to have a raging gun battle in the middle of a crowded intersection.

Whole lotta wtf in that small paragraph.
Oh, and in before the whole story. |
|
Tell your friends not to flip people off. Nowadays people open fire on folks whom they perceived slighted them.
|
|
Watcha suppose he would have done if...when he flipped y'all off....your friends hadn't escalated the situation by flipping him off in return?

Well you did the right thing by calling the police, might want to talk with your friends or find new ones that don't escalate a situation.

You have 'boys'? What are you, a fucking scoutmaster ? 'Boys'? All I said was that I was heading back to a friend's house after some lunch. And to everybody else, yeah my friends could have done a better job at trying to handle the situation, but I have no control over what they do. |

What's the saying about an armed society being a polite society?
Bet you won't flip him off again |
|
Derp on both sides.. Less derp on your side.
Good job? I don't think you not having a CHL was the issue. |

I remember the first time a former friend pulled a weapon (carpet knife in one hand hook knife in the other) on me like it was yesterday. Ahh memories.
Kid go out and live a good life. Talk to your friends about flipping people the bird while they are in your car. Try and stay away from stupid people, stupid places, and large quantities of substances that make you act stupid unless you are in the privacy of your own home. When you are 21 get your CCW and do everything in your power to make sure you never have to use it. However when someone asks you why you carry a gun you now have a reason. Don't elaborate it, just say some crazy dude pulled a gun on you one time and from that point on you never wanted to be unarmed again. |

Why the hell are there people telling me to 'grow up'? I didn't do a damn thing to escalate the situation and it's not my fault that some punk drew on me.

Thick skins required in GD or they'll pounce on you relentlessly
In your same age group dude, have friends who would do the same and not to be so smart about it. Have to stay frosty. |

And had you been carrying what would you have done? I don't know.....maybe defend himself if the lunatic started shooting at someone? I don't remember anywhere that he stated he would have opened fire on him for pulling the gun out or inferred that he would have done anything differently (drove away and got the fuck out there asap) than he did. Why do you guys carry? If he was of legal age, did he not have a right to defend himself from some road rage psycho if he started shooting and disabled his vehicle? Who cares if they flipped him back off.....does that warrant a gun being drawn on you? For a bunch of self proclaimed hard asses who fight for your civil liberties and the .gov not treading on you, you guys are such pussies some times. That being said I believe the law of 21 years old to ccw is just and correct. But discrediting his right to defend himself against an armed man is hypocritical. |

Don't get into a dumbassing contest with a trained professional next time.

You guys are slipping. This many posts and no request for mspaint? WTF?
|
|
well, you did the right thing calling 911 when you got home. no reason for that convict shitbird to be roaming the street.
and as far as the gunfight at an intersection, wtf is he supposed to do, sit there and get shot??? some cocksucker starts waving a piece at me, his life is forfeit, I'll shoot his ass dead. |
