I have 2 "ready" and 2 tucked away

One of the ready ones I haven't touched in years since it's rather heavy. The other I throw in the truck and wear on the range a few times annually.

Also have a weight/plate vest that I wear to PT.

Did 2 tactical games last year and they require a PC. Other than that, they take up space in the closet.

I guess we'll find out. Ordered today.

I set mine up and it's about 6 feet from my bed. It's there if I need it, but at my age I probably won't. If SHTF I won't be E&E-ing. No amount of "training" will change that.

When i had somewhere to shoot and move i used it almost every time i went shooting.  Now it just sits in the closet because those opportunities dried up.

I wear mine at work under my lab coat when I work in the ED. I sweat pretty hard but I'd rather have it and not need it than vice versa

I wear a stab vest when I work in the office. Some antisocial drug seeking POSs that don't like to hear the word no have been known to try and shank staff. We have a panic button but you'd be dead by the time they got to you without some protection.

I also have an OG interceptor my ex wife custom painted with the punisher symbol, she did a great fucking job. That one comes out at Halloween.

Mine spent a lot of time on my kids playing airsoft,  with doubled cardboard plates.  I put it on once in a while when busy in my shop just to make sure it still fits well and is not damaged. If you see me out and about in it, something bad is happening.

Glad I am not the only one.  My 17 year old is now using the weighted fake plates when he plays.

Plus there has been too many  "Cry Wolf"  situations. Over the years.

Over the decades.

Seems like so many times,.. the world, .society,..is standing on the cliffs edge were assets like this would need to be deployed.

Only too just,..fade away.

My cheap one deploys with me so I don't get the good one dirty where I actually have to use it

I wear mine with doing house choirs. You wouldn't believe how it can get in the way, snag, or just be uncomfortable doing simple actions like going through a door or pulling laundry out of the machine.

I also wear it running my neighborhood. Did 1.5 miles in it last week surprisingly easy, though it was slick except for water.

Guys with plate carriers, do you wear them? or do they just sit in the closet?

Not talking the high speed guys that use them day to day, but the Walter Mitty owners.

Compete and workout in it.  Not always with hard plates.  Breaking those can be pricey.  I at times also wear it at work when I get to jump in with one of my OPFOR teams.

Prior to getting foster kids in feb of this year I did all my yard work and outside work  on my property in my pc with steel plates but if pull the mags. I have 5 to take care of.

Now that I have the kids it sits in a Closet.  They have no  idea I own anything but a compound bow.

Closet, but I ruck with a carrier with GoRuck plates weight plates. So I’m used to the weight and moving around with a carrier on. Last time I actually wore it for its purpose was during the BLM riots. Family members business was in an area of Richmond that was threatened, couple of family members went down and spent the night watching over the business. Nothing happened, and went home.

This year mine has been to two tactical training classes, multiple range trips, and I wear it in the gym once every few weeks. I'm not saying it stinks, but I won't deny it's a little "seasoned."

I wore mine daily for for almost 4 years after 9/11. Last time I wore it was for a Cola Warrior Classic run a few years ago.

I practice and train in mine.

Also wore it when my next door neighbor shot some people on my front yard and his only means of escape was coming through my house. It was very much not heavy in those moments.

It got heavy over the 8 hour swat stand off that ensued.

But I carry soft armor every day and even fly with it.

I wear mine a few times a week for a few mile walk, with a kid on my shoulders and other kids in tow.

I've got hundreds of miles in a plate carrier under my feet by now.

Its a good way to figure your setup out quickly and cheaply.  Like, it'd be nice if my side plates rode a little higher, but it just isn't going to work after a while; or that PTT is in a bad spot; or I can set a torch behind my front mags for quick access, and they angle the mags out a little for an easy mag grab.

I have a heavy set and a lighter set.  Neither are low profile.  Sometimes I'll throw one on when doing chores.

Or if it's a good classic war movie I'll put one on and get out an old favorite gun to fondle as I watch.

Of course. Mine gets used about once/month for our team exercises.

If you’ve never put on your gear and just moved in it, it will be next to useless to you if the time ever comes to use it.

I retired mine to the side of the bed when I retired. Just went through all my stuff this week replacing batteries and checking on stuff because I can't shake the feeling we're living through the equivalent of the first week of December 1941
edit: I was thinking last night that I really need to stage a pair of boots next to the bed at night. All of my footwear normally stays downstairs

Mine sits in the closet also, ready if SHTF and I need it to drive in my truck. Because at 60 with some back problems, I don't see myself running and gunning with it on.
It's one heavy sumbitch.

I run in mine ~4 times a year. I also play airsoft in mine with real plates about once a month. 4 times a year I do 2 day airsoft events with plates. Sometimes I wear it once and a while for pig hunting for the additional weight and shooting with it on. (I know the pigs don't shoot back).

Those of you that never wear yours doing physical activity/shooting are kidding yourself if you think you're just going to throw it on when you need it, and it's not going to have an effect on how you shoot, reload, move, and accomplish other tasks.

They literally suck to do anything in

It definitely changes how you move and shoot. Just finding the best spot for the rifle stock on your shoulder changes quite a bit.
