I picked up the habit of calling everybody cocksucker from Deadwood.

I couldn’t stand her character at first but she grew on me. |

Fun fact, the swear words back then would not make sense today so they used modern phrases

Watched it years ago. Thought it was good. Binge watching it again right now and I’m finding it even better.

Calamity Jane made me fast forward, but other than that it's excellent.

Quoted: It has been a couple of years ago but I enjoyed it. Nothing historical about it, just a story with interesting people set in the old west. View Quote How can you say there's nothing historical about it? No, it's not a documentary, but it is definitely based on actual historical figures and happenings. I was kinda impressed by how much of it was fairly accurate for a drama series. |

If you don't do a pilgrimage to Deadwood (No, sturgis doesn't count), you are most certainly a San Francisco Cocksucker.

I liked the movie. i thought it gave the series the ending it needed. Of course Bullock was long gone by that time. What do you mean Bullock was long gone? He didn’t die until 1919 |

The banter and old style language was interesting. The base hatred and distrust of government was too.
Some of the people I almost hated in the beginning, ended up being my favorite characters. You really need to listen closely to the exchanges. The use of the English language was retro. |

God rest the souls of that poor family... and p*ssy's half price for the next 15 minutes.

Pain or damage don't end the world - Deadwood - Swearengen |
|
I love westerns and I really liked the cast but I couldn't get past episode 3 or so.
It dragged bigly. Other folks here love it and have watched the entire thing multiple times, though. |

Don't watch the movie till after the series.
It's the end and does a ok job of wrapping it up. Kinda like elcamino did for breaking bad. Any man that does sucks cock by choice! |

HBO did two brilliant series that they cancelled: "Rome" and "Deadwood". I highly recommend both.
"Deadwood" had excellent acting, good production value, and was fairly well written in terms of the micro interactions and character development, but where it faulted was that it was ended too soon and therefore didn't have an opportunity to flush out its larger story to a satisfying conclusion. The "movie" was basically a rushed way to wrap up the loose ends and it unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired and is very unsatisfying. That said, it is still worth the watch. It's basically uses a dialogue/language that is this crazy hybrid between Shakespeare and American English with a lot of swearing. The characters are interesting, well developed, and the show definitely will hold your attention if you don't need a lot of flashy transformers stuff on screen to hold your attention every second. If you don't like historical dramas or westerns though you probably will not enjoy it. If you're sensitive to swearing I'd avoid it. If you're looking for non-stop gun fights and tribal attacks by Native Americans you'll be disappointed. Otherwise, enjoy. |
