Kind of sad, lots of backlash over his comments about supporting veterans on Remembrance Day.
 Don Cherry’s Remembrance Day remarks called divisive and offensive "HNIC Host Don Cherry on the Saturday night hockey broadcast says he sees fewer people wearing poppies these days, and blames that on newcomers to the country. Some are now calling for the hockey host to be fired." |

Thats a shame, I used to watch hockey night in canada on the old satellite a neighbor had back in the late 80s and esrly 90s. I met him at the 02 winter Olympics in SLC, he seemed like an alright old man.

What he said is the truth. Being piled on, pilloried, and called a racist for saying something that is true is just another sign of our great decline due to decadence. And it is far from just those who have immigrated to Canada, or the US, or other Western countries who have forgotten history. There are countless others who fail to appreciate the birthright given to them by their own ancestors who are the ones who fought, bled, and died to give it to them.
History is being retconned left and right by a bunch of morons who have no wisdom, perspective, or any actual experience by which to cast their judgment on the actions of our fore-bearers. They place themselves on an entirely unearned pedestal while they look down on those who faced challenges and circumstances that they cannot even begin to understand. They are fools whose haughty ignorance have a significant possibility of destroying everything that was paid for in blood by those who came before us. They will march on due to the false promise of a future utopia built upon the ashes of civilization. Hopefully we will not all have to experience the truth of their ideology, which is that it is only capable of destruction. They will not be the architects of the future they imagine, rather the future they would actually create will be to return humanity to it's base condition. And that condition is something which their ignorant ideology is incapable of even acknowledging. |
