Decided to throw together a pan of lasagna as well. Once I pop that in the oven, I’ll start boiling the potatoes for the cottage/hunter/shepherd’s pie thing.

Quoted: So in my 50+ years of life I have never been to a party where the cops were called...... until last night. Most of the families we have met since the move are nice people but don't drink, wife has been looking to make friends who drink socially and has been out to dinner/drinks a couple of times with some ladies in our neighborhood and one of them invited us to a party at their house last night. Seemed like a nice party, 11 adults, 10 kids ranging from 7 to 17, catered appetizers, kids upstairs watching a movie, adults standing around talking, eating and drinking. The hostess seemed drunk when we arrived (she was trying to make cocktails for everyone but couldn't figure out which of the booze bottles was bourbon and was spilling stuff), she kept turning the music up really loud and her husband kept turning it down to a level where people could talk, then the hostess started taking the other ladies into the garage to tell them she was divorcing him and was serving papers on Tuesday (they have 10 and 13 year old kids), the husband who was sober found out what was happening and packed a bag then went outside, apparently she followed him and things escalated, no idea who called the cops but two cop cars arrived and everyone at the party decided it was time to grab their kids and leave, as we got in the golf cart to drive home she was in the back of a cop car and he was asking a cop if he could go to a hotel for the night. Don't think we'll be going back to that house for a party again, hope everyone's weekend was less eventful View Quote |

For those who are curious, I am totally in love with this Boerboel puppy. She is everything that we wanted and were hoping to get. She is very smart, athletic (but not unmanageably hyperactive), sweet, curious, and very good with the imps and the livestock. Duckski also adores her.
10/10, would recommend. |

You can use them to work livestock a bit, and they won’t hesitate to back up an LGD in a fight, but they work much closer to the farmer than a typical LGD. They’ll help control unruly livestock and move them from place to place, and they’re definitely territorial when it comes to interlopers in their space, but they won’t spend all night outside with the herd. They come back home with the farmer and play with the kids and guard the nursery and house. |

That's more my style. The cows are fine by themselves.
It's the chickens in the side yards that need an eye kept on them from the nightly racooons |

They want to sleep in with the kids or at the foot of the farmer’s bed. If they have a dog door, they might go out and handle business if they hear something amiss, but they stay with their people. |

Quoted: This is my last post. Yes. I'm completely serious. You see, I'm not who you all think I am. Not at all. Currently, I'm a writer for Washington Post, living in a small studio apartment, always looking for the next big story, barely scraping by sometimes. I was asked several months ago by my editor to do a piece on the so-called 'shitpost' community on ARF that seems to become more and more popular by the day. Initially, I was intrigued. The humor was bizzare, yet interesting. Nonsensical, yet genius. I spent several months interacting with people I had never met before in my life, learning the culture, what was "cool" and what wasn't. Eventually, I began to make my own posts, testing the waters now and then. And eventually my own posts started getting noticed, and maybe for a minute or two I understood why you all do this. But that didn't last long. And with time, I began to notice how stale the content truly was. How the same 'memes' could be spammed over and over again, and still get massive amounts of attention. And I also began to notice something else. The viciousness with which you attacked each other. The semi-constant bullying and harassment. Each day, it made me even more sickened than before, to the point where you people made me start questioning everything about reality and what I knew about it. I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep. I was drinking 2 bottles of whiskey every night. But, finally, my mission is complete. Tomorrow, we will be publishing a comprehensive guide on this group, potentially exposing some of your members' most well kept secrets. I'm deactivating this account at midnight, but before I do, I just want to let you know you all make me sick. View Quote TL;DR. And a bit gay. |
