[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Have you ever been somewhere and you sensed pure evil? Serious question (Page 8 of 9)

Evil presence? Right here in my house. The Other Resident, who plays the "good mom/grandma/homemaker" schtick but also has an "evil witch" alternate persona, causes me a lot of stress. It's like having a pit bull that is a nice doggy, until it isn't. Just that "might bite me in ass at any time" is troubling. And the chronic stress causes chronic depression. A couple of her sisters have the same thing going on. Like the pit bulls, I'm not sure if "it's how they're raised" or if it's hard-wired. |

Quoted: @NWJohnny I had a similar but different reaction last year in a restaurant. I was just hanging out, nice place on the beach in Georgia, and got this absolutely sick feeling that someone in the room was actively dying. I'm a doctor but not trauma, so it was weird and I couldn't shake it. There were old people all around and servers running, but never saw anyone in the kitchen. I made sure I knew where the AED was and the address of the place for the inevitable call to 911 but nothing happened while we were there and we left. I told my family all about it. Anyway, the restaurant was so good we went back the next day for lunch. The place was somber and quiet, and it turned out the night before the dish washer that had been there for years had a heart attack. Most likely started while we were dining but he didn't tell anyone, went home, and passed that night. I have always trusted my gut but really, truly believe we can be tuned into things we don't understand more than we know. @steviesterno16 Had kind of a similar experience when my wife who is a physician with me being just a lowly LEO we’re out to dinner at a very nice expensive steakhouse here in the valley. This was many years ago, but one of the patrons collapsed in the floor in front of us so we jumped over and started working him thinking maybe he had a heart attack because he was a big old fucker. He was there with a bunch of nurses at his table who were demanding that we start chest compressions on him, but the guy is still conscious, barely but still. Not to mention they weren’t actually lending a hand at anything. Long story short he just sucked down a big old piece of steak and had an FBAO that I was able to correct just by reaching to his mouth and yanking that bitch out even while the nurses were motherfucking me for not doing what they considered proper CPR on a conscious patient. Then they started motherfucking my wife at the same time until they figure it out, she was a doctor then they finally shut up and just sat there and sulked. Anyway, sorry OP for the the thread drift, but what you said just made me remember that incident and gave me a giggle. |

Maybe 1994 and I was 10 and my sister about 3. Boulevard Wine & Spirits in Edmond, OK. Dad stopped after picking us up at school to get some wine or beer for dinner and left my sister and I in the car. He always told us, "If anyone gives you trouble, lay on the horn." Some guy in a beat to crap old boat of a car pulls up next to us and the guy opens the door to his car and turns to face our car. He sat there for what felt like minutes staring at my sister in the back seat and literally licking his lips with this weird smile. It probably only was for a 8-10 seconds. I remember thinking at the time, "That's the guy (Cobain) from Nirvana." He looked like a methed out Kurt Cobain. He and I made eye contact and I just tried to be as brave as I could and I tried to stare him down. I already had my hand on the steering wheel and I just laid on the horn and my dad came running out ready to beat someone's ass. The dude just shut the door and drove off. I can still see his face and that smile. |

Several times over the years. The most recent was escorting Child Protective Services to remove an infant the day they came home after delivery. The entire house atmosphere just felt oppressively heavy. The "father" would never look directly at you, but always giving you the side eye when he thought you weren't looking. He showed absolutely zero emotions during the encounter, avoided all conversation and then actually left the house. Later I told one of the other officers (who was off the day of the CPS removal), "You watch yourself dealing with XXXX, he isn't right." About two weeks later that officer was first on scene for a double homicide committed by XXXX. |

Thread bump. About 20 years ago I was in a Wall-Mart looking at guns. Guy in his 60's with what looked like his 30 y/o son and a 10 y/o grand son walks by. Old man stops, then walks up next to me as I'm looking at a rifle. The other two take a step back as if to give creepy guy space to "do his thing". He exuded pure evil. The vibe was very strong. He stands so close to my side he's almost touching me. He then says' "I have one of those. In fact, I have a lot of things". I turned and looked at him and he had lifeless, dead eyes despite trying to give me a creepy smile. I simply said, "good for you" and walked away. I told my then girlfriend after, that I had just been in the presence of pure evil. |

I had a very real-seeming dream where I became aware that this guy was the devil. He didn't have horns or look scary. In fact he was a regular guy in jeans and a polo but when he looked at me I had a sense of absolute evil and understood that as a human I would be completely helpless before him if it were not for Jesus. I realize this was maybe not what you were asking about since it didn't happen "IRL" but it's the one time I really felt like I experienced the dread of true evil. |

Very rural Georgia and Alabama, way back in the woods, I felt an uneasy feeling a few times around a couple really old, trashed farm houses and abandoned trailers. There was this one house wayyyy back in the woods off a dirt road, that was obviously abandoned, but had 100s of fish bones/carcasses strewn all over the property and a collection of doll heads laying all over the place... I unassed that place fairly quickly. |

Quoted: No "evil" feelings. Definitely some "I'm just going to leave this area" feelings, because things just felt too quiet. I have had that in the woods a few times, typically I attribute it to a mountain lion in the area. It's one of those things that, when you recognize that it's too quiet the hair stands up on your neck. Once I was out hunting with a buddy. We split up for an afternoon, I found myself in a moss covered area under what amounts to triple canopy in a canyon in Washington state. The place was so quiet, it was spooky. Nothing moved. No sound. Later that night we encountered something in that same area that let out a shriek like neither of us had ever heard. But what makes it a good ghost story is, whatever it was mimicked my buddy's Dan'l Boone "whip or will" whistles to try and lure me in close. I've told that story in spooky threads here a few times. |

I unassed that place fairly quickly. My hunting buddy found an old cabin on National Forest land during elk season, he described it to me as completely abandoned and very creepy. We never got around to visiting it together. When he moved he gave me the coordinates and I hiked up there to have a look. Turns out someone had discovered it and cleaned up a bit. They added a guest register and there was an old coleman stove for people to use. Turns out it was an old caretaker's cabin for an early air navigation beacon. However, it was in the process of collapsing and the interior was badly rotted so I didn't have any desire to stay inside. I didn't get the same sense of evil that my buddy did. Probably because others had visited in the interim. However, on the hike in I noticed an odd looking tree in the middle of the trail. It was a pine tree about 4" diameter at the base. Someone had cut it, trimmed the limbs, and planted it upside down. It was weird, and I was struck by the fact anyone would go to so much effort in the middle of nowhere. |
|
There's a tree off Forest Service road 41, way back in the NF, covered in stuffed animals. I saw it a couple of years running, and got pictures. If I remember I'll find the pictures of it and the cabin. Sometime after I first saw it, someone cut down the stuffed animals and threw them down the hill. New ones had been put up. The fact that someone drove way back there to add those animals was very creepy to me. |

Once I did a job in Papua New Guinea. We came ashore for crew change and during the alongside period we spent some time at the local open air market. I was walking around looking at the wares one day and this strange looking woman caught my eye. She had this strange distended belly. At first I thought she was pregnant, but her shape was all wrong. Then I noticed her face was badly distorted. Her mouth was drawn up into a convulsive, evil looking grin. It dawned on me: she had Kuru. A prion disease from eating the CNS tissue of dead humans. No pictures of that one. I was not going to risk snapping pics of a woman in a foreign country where people disappear. |

Not really a place so much as a who......Once when soon to be Gov. Patton of KY came into the factory that I was working looking for his handout. As he walked into the cafeteria I thought it was kinda cool that I was about to shake hands with a future governor. But as he got to within 10 feet I had this massive sense of evil come over me and I felt that I had been slimed as he passed by. I was young and not especially political back then but I still get the shutters thinking about it. |

Pheasant hunting in northern Kansas, there are the occasional abandoned farm houses and rural one-room school buildings. We would occasionally go into them just to get out of the cold and wind for a bit. One old farm house, unlocked, that was miles from anything, looked like a set from The Twilight Zone. Everything was covered in decades of dust. 1930s era furnishings, kitchen appliances, and completely made beds. The closets had a few men's, women's and children's clothes and shoes that looked like they were made during the Great Depression. There were some canning jars full of old brownish stuff in a pantry. It looked like the family that lived there had simply vanished. The whole place had a very creepy vibe. There was a collapsing old barn that we did not want to go into. Very Ed Gein-ish. |

Quoted: No "evil" feelings. Definitely some "I'm just going to leave this area" feelings, because things just felt too quiet. I've had "hey dude, instead of walking down that dark street, you should totally turn right and go somewhere else" on a street I walk down all the time that leads to the bike path. For some reason, that night I just had that intuition I should NOT go down there, so I said out loud "ok" and turned. Upon walking away I heard voices coming from somewhere down that street in the dark. Sounded like 2 or 3 people. Couldn't see anyone though. |

Quoted: Two places come to mind... Berkeley Springs WV....it's become a mecca for wiccan witchcraft, etc Savannah Ga...lots of bodies buried under the streets, voodoo. I was stationed at Hunter Army Airfield back in the late 70s early 80s. Use to go down to River Street a lot. Back then it was not as many tourists like it has today. You could walk up off of river street and there'd be barely anyone walking around the squares. There was a little bar on a side street up there off of one the squares. I'd walk to sometimes off of river street. It was just a door on the side of one of the old buildings. I want to say it was called the hidden door. I can't remember. But on several occasions walking those street by myself I'd get the strangest feeling. Like I was being watched while walking around there late at night. I'd stopped several times and just look around taking in the environment and looking for anyone that may have been around me. I'd look up into the windows of what seemed like back then abandoned buildings. Anyways the feeling was very unnerving. Like there was something hiding in the shadows watching me. It took a lot to spike my fear factor back then. You could sense around presence up there. After a while I just stopped going up off of river street at night. So I know what you're saying about Savannah. It can be really creepy. You can experience all kinds of what I can best describe as gut feelings of something not being quite right and you kinda have a fight or flight feeling. Experienced it once at Ft Stewart also when we were there doing patrols at night during ARTEP training back then. I was on right flank security at a danger area at night. About 50 meters from patrol as they crossed the road. I felt something behind me back in the trees and swamp. It was so dark in the woods you could see your hand in front of your face. I couldn't see it but I just knew something was there. It was like a sick in your stomach fear and the hairs on your neck raised up. It was so strong it over whelmed you. Took blank adapter of and dropped a section of my cleaning rod down barrel and faced rearward until I got a call to rejoin patrol. Use to train at the old abandon i believe it was a railroad yard maybe in Savannah. It was a 3 story complex of old buildings. It was pretty cool. We'd rehearse room clearing, repelling through windows from rooms above. Hostage situations ect...Plus use it to train for missions. We'd use BB guns to learn to use cover. After getting hit enough with BBs you learned. Never felt uneasy there. But there was a lot of us shooting weapons and using grenade simulators. It probably scaeed tge dead off. ?? Man those were great days |

Quoted: YESSIR, AND AS CHRISTIANS WEALSO KNOW SATAN AND EVIL ARE REAL. AFTER 35 YEARS AS A LEO IVE SEEN A LOT OF EVIL. THE MONSTERS ARE NOT IN YOUR CLOSET OR UNDER YOUR BED, THEY WALK AMONG US EVERYDAY. Same here, the evil that men can do is beyond belief. I still wake up sometimes from the things I've witnessed. A few times I wasn't able to eat for a few days afterwards. Because I'd gotten so sick in my stomach and everytime I'd go to eat something it would remind me of what I'd seen. That was when I first started my career. |
| Never. Been to lots of places where evil things happened like multiple homicide scenes and military massacres but never sensed anything including pure evil. I'm not a believer in anything supernatural so that probably has an impact on how I perceive situations. |

Quoted: I spent nearly a month in East TN and Western NC surveying the damage from Hurricane Helene. Of the all the areas "off the beaten path" that I went two, only two sites stood out in my mind as "something" wasn't quite right. One was in the headwaters and back in a hollow where multiple generations of a family lived. A mudslide killed the grandfather there. The second area was around Burnsville, NC. There was something in the air which I could not explain which made me want to leave that area as we were NOT welcome. I was as glad to leave that area that afternoon as I was upset that I had to go back there the next morning. Seeing the same area covered in snow only added to the discomfort that I felt. Not mine but my daughter's [which I am pretty sure I shared here before]. She claimed up and down that she saw a ghost on the Chickamauga Battlefield. It shook her up so badly that she wanted us to unass from the battlefield RTFN and made sure our 70-lb. Labrabull slept in the twin-sized bed with her that night. There is a lot of history and a lot of tragedy in those hills, and it always seems spirits are associated with both. |

I lived for several years in a very large mansion / Krankenhaus (hospital) in Germany. I'd say very much it was a mansion. During WWI it was a field hospital, then a German hospital including a psych ward (every door had double hinges, outside and in.) Then was a field hospital again during WWII. After that it was a gausthaus, a bar/air-BNB kinda place. Moved there in 1989. Place was fucking creepy. I will say it was really creepy. Built into a hillside, 6 stories. Every floor except the attic came out at ground level. The attic had a dozen padded doors from when there was a psych ward. Yes I saw shit I cannot explain. There was a concrete spiral staircase into the 1st basement that was really dark and weird. White walls, red stairs. I ALWAYS FELT DREAD THERE. So, that's my story |

The evil emanating from this guy was palpable from the TV film and newspaper photos. I thought it couldn't get any worse but the photo in this wiki article proves me wrong https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Allen_Davis |

Quoted: Local Planned Parenthood Clinic I mentioned somewhere a close friend who did drywall work was hired by the local Planned Parenthood to do some drywall work in their "offices" He told me he spent a half day or so there and told them to hire someone else, because he would never enter that building again, He told me there was an overwhelming sense of "bad" in that place. |

Quoted: Eh.....I have a fantasy idea of making Blair witch -style stick figures, and getting a bunch of creepy wind chimes, and hanging them all around this thing to freak out the next person who comes through. ![]() https://i.ibb.co/MhBLpMP/20230521-125159.jpg Kinda funny most people won't even recognize what that concrete piece is and might think it's something bad. Back when that movie was popular a co-worker and friend at the time used to make them and hang them in the nearby state park. Odd but harmless guy. I think the ex and I watched about fifteen minutes of that movie, decided it was one of the dumbest excuses for a movie we'd ever seen and cut it off. Incidentally, Wicca isn't witchcraft as in worshiping Satan (they don't believe in Satan, usually a goddess and a horned consort, but the consort isn't evil, more a ying and yang type thing) and actual Wiccans believe in the Rule of Three, so doing any harm will come back on them threefold. Other forms of witchcraft exist, including those who do believe in Satan (and even that doesn't necessarily mean they worship him, they may just recognize that he exist like Christians acknowledge his existence; some do, in some form, usually more a tribute thing from what I've seen, they tend to have other entities that they "worship" or believe in for different powers) but being somewhat tongue in cheek and painting with a broad brush, Wicca is mostly cat ladies, lesbians and others on SSRIs who don't quite fit in. There are definitely different forms of Satanism though, from those who do believe in and worship Satan to those like Crowley who were essentially hedonistic and didn't really seem to believe in anything other than forming a cult that got him women. Occultism and paganism cover a huge variety of beliefs, most of it isn't evil, just different. Then there are the people who are evil, for various reasons, and that's a whole different level... |

Never had a feeling like tonight. Fiancée and I shopping Walmart getting staples etc. We both turn into the next isle and both immediately get dizzy, light headed and very nauseous. She paused and I walked ahead 15 Feet or so and I immediately start to feel better, she lagged behind me and felt terrible until she came to me about 15 seconds later. Did we just walk into some dark or evil presence there? I have never felt so physically terrible and better in 15 seconds in my life, Neither has she nor have I ever experienced anything of that nature and the thought of it still lingers as to what thar could have been. Thoughts? |

A couple of years ago my former boss and I were working a couple of miles away from his how in Aurora,CO. His wife calls and says their 4yo daughter is gone and not in the house. As a former LEO, I assured him that more than likely she was in fact in the house but just hiding. We hauled ass over there and I got a description from his wife and began walking around their neighborhood, and the playground that was next door. I had already covered a couple blocks and was heading back to their home, but I took a different route. I distinctly remember stopping dead in my tracks in front of this one house. The only one without a car in the driveway, and the only one without a manicured lawn. When I say the feeling of overwhelming sadness hit me, it hit me so hard I started to tear up. I have never felt so uneasy in my entire life. I just stood there, tears coming down my face and not knowing why and I couldn't move. Finally I made myself move and looked over the fence in the backyard. Thats about the time he called me and told me she was hiding under a pile of clothes in their bedroom. |
