I’ve seen the Mayan pyramids in Tikal.
It was quite memorable. |

Just dirt ones. Cahokia and the ones near Tuscaloosa AL
Oh, and Luxor in LV. Kind of a disappointment |

In 1994 or so I had a business trip to San Salvador in El Salvador. I got to see two sites with pyramids. They were very small ones only 5 meters tall of so. One was in a city that had been buried by ash from a nearby volcano just like Pompeii in Italy. Whole houses preserved but at that time no bodies had been found. The doors to the houses were very small. I doubt if they were 4 feet tall. Turns out the people who lived there were quite short.
Kind of strange standing in a ball court and knowing the fate of the players on the losing team. |

I went to High School in Maadi Egypt... our schools graduation ceremonies were held at Giza...
Been to Giza dozens of times.. as well as some of the lesser known sites. You can rent horses for the day and ride into the desert around Giza.. or Saqqara. When you stand there, and realize this stone came in on barges, and was done with primitive bronze age tools, you will understand why shows like "Ancient aliens" have a following. Giza especially.. the math, and understanding of our globe, needed to build it was beyond what we assume there technology was ever capable of. |

Yes, the Wesley Snipes/Nubian pyramids used to be around 20 minutes away....shit looked like a giant putt-putt course.

Just Mayan, but it was incredible. Climbed the pyramid at Chichen Itza before they put a halt to to the practice.

It was French Polynesia, island of Mo'orea. It was a pretty cool site we stumbled across.
I've been to lots of sites in Mexico but this was cool to find! |

Quoted: Did you see what that little Napoleon Bonaparte bastard did to that pharaoh Khafra sphinx feller? He shot his face off. His troops used his face for cannon practice. If you look closely you can see the impact craters from their cannon shot. https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/3/spinx-pat-turner.jpg View Quote That is a myth, and is totally incorrect. It’s unknown exactly when/how the nose and beard were damaged, but it was definitely long before Napoleon. |

El Castillo at Chicken Itza back in the early 80's when you still climb the stairs to the top and go in a tunnel in the interior to view a jaguar statue with jade inlay. It is steep with tiny steps so I imagine at least a few people got messed up falling back down.
