I've never run a house fire caused by natural gas. Everyone was electrical fires. One fire I was involved in by propane was an rv fire. It was caused by faulty lines. I never bought another after it burnt. Fortunately I had it insured. Now I'm not saying they do not happen because they do. But I've never run one. I've also run medical cares where people were seriously burned using propane grills. They exploded because they lit them incorrectly. Most every accident was caused by stupidity and lack of common sense. If you use gas get gas detectors. They are inexpensive and can save your life. |

as my dad once told a farmer who used propane to blow out the A/C vents on his tractor right before lighting up a cigarette... if the shit didn't burn, nobody would want to buy it when ignited, it burns, that's its job. if it's not respected, neglected or not paid attention to, sometimes it'll do its job where it's not supposed to |
| Lots of older homes have gas water heaters and stoves because the electrical is often a 40 amp service, nowhere near enough to upgrade to electric heater and stove and the upgrades are extremely expensive as the homes often contain lead paint and asbestos insulation, hazmat protocols are not cheap. |

Some cities had problems with natgas service lines getting directional drilled through sewer mains for long side services . Drilled deep to avoid other utilities buried in street . Sewer eventually gets cleaned and line cut , gas follows sewer back to house which in turn explodes . Not natgas related but Google Louisville sewer explosion in 1981 . |

The most common leak I found around here was caused by shitty installations. The next most common was bad pro press fittings on copper pipe. Around here, gas lines are L copper, black iron pipe, or tract pipe. Tracing gas leaks in tract pipe is impossible unless it’s at a joint. What would you run for a new install? |

Was dumb to ban him 100% This site has ran off many good people, genuinely good people who are a benefit to the site. Instead we have an over abundance of people who should be banned but aren’t. |
