Overrated and not as good as their Two Hearted Ale, IMO. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I have never tried it is it good or bad? Overrated and not as good as their Two Hearted Ale, IMO. You cant compare them imho. Two Hearted is epic good. Hopslam hits differently. It is like a DFH 120 lite.. thick and sticky but not super sweet. |

Lets brew a shit beer and hops the fuck out of it. In facts, we'll sell it for $15 a bottle and call it "hopped-to-fuck". Hipsters will love its edgy appeal.

I almost skipped it this year since I'm so burned out on IPAs. There are so many boring cookie cutter IPAs out now that even the really good ones are losing their appeal. We're almost back at the "bad old days" of domestic beer production where people just mindlessly order an IPA and bars can't sell those scary dark beers or belgian styles. I did end up getting some, but I'm done with all the "me too" IPAs everyone is putting out.

I picked up a 6-pack and a mini-keg, it's pretty good. I'm saving a few remaining Pliny the Elder's I have left over from my California trip so this is an ok alternative.
Last year my brother came out and I had a bunch of Hopslam sitting around, plus we went to a local pizza place and scored some 3F's Zombie Dust. With each beer, he said "eh, do they have any Coors?" My eyes about bugged out of my head, to say the least. |

Damn! All the way from Kalamazoo, MI to Arizona huh? Nice to see Bell's becoming a big time "microbrew"

Any shot I could possibly convince you to buy one and mail it, OP? Haven't had any luck sourcing it locally. I believe a good friend is still trying to find some (it's his favorite beer).

It's good but way over hyped and priced. There's plenty of IPAs or dipas that are just as good if not better that are available all year long and are easy to get at half the price.
How much are you guys paying for those mini kegs? |

Hopslam is outstanding stuff. I have a few bottles around from a rare score a while back
|
|
Hopslam is a good DIPA and was very special a few years ago, but now there are just so many better options in the IPA world with the best coming out of New England (Heady, Treehouse, Sunshine, Trillium, Maine)
