"The Exorcist" was scary enough for me.

https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/horror-film-terrifier-2-causing-viewers-puke-faint-in-theater-producer-warns-graphic-violence

A low-budget sequel film in the "Terrifier" film series is causing visceral reactions from moviegoers - with many viewers sharing they puked or passed out due to the goriness of the movie.

"Terrifier 2," a horror film written and directed by Damien Leone, follows a resurrected Art the Clown that is looking to terrorize a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.

Upon its release in select theaters, fans immediately started tweeting their reactions to the slasher movie.
Art the Clown

Art the Clown is the villain of the film, who is resurrected to terrorize a teenage girl and her brother in "Terrifier 2.

One person shared to Twitter, "My friend passed out and the theater called an ambulance. Highly recommended."

Another person wrote, "So I umm… just got done watching Terrifier 2.. and yeah, this has been the most disturbing movie I have ever seen. Like this s--- is on a different level of sadistic. We were so stunned that we couldn’t even speak after it ended."

One attendee shockingly revealed, "Terrifier 2 is so gory I puked in my popcorn."
Damion Leone, director

The extreme reactions sparked the director, Leone, to reportedly tweet out to fans, "To everyone saying that reports of people fainting and puking during screenings of Terrifier 2 is a marketing ploy, I swear on the success of the film it is NOT. These reports are 100% legit. I wish we were smart enough to think of that…But then again we didn’t need to."

Leone is also credited as doing special effects makeup for the movie.

Producer Steve Barton issued an ominous warning to viewers, sharing a warning statement, but not before saying, "We aren't done yet."

While many had what would be considered a less than positive reaction, many fans on Twitter shared their excitement at the possibility of being so tormented by a movie.

One person tweeted, "terrifier 2 better make me puke," while another simply wrote, "I'm (sic) going to see terrifier 2 if I don’t cry and puke I want my money back."

I don’t see this as a good thing. But then I’ve never been a fan of horror/gore/torture-porn movies to begin with

Because there are some seriously screwed up people out there.

Sounds like its box office take was about the same as Bros

I'd rather watch this than any given woketastic film or show being regurgitated these days.

That Smile movie looks okay. I was going to go with my daughter this past weekend, but she ended up going to a friend's birthday party.

Does "Terrifier 2" have Trans or LGBTQ representation? Are POC part of the main cast? Does it speak to the terrible climate crises facing our Democracy?

Gore and titties are a way to draw in an audience when the script sucks.
I would still sit through a bad movie if it had enough titties though...

Those aren't really horror movies in my opinion. They're more like the "torture porn" genre, which I don't like much. I LOVE horror though. Gory slasher horror is still fun as long as it is still actually horror and not just an attempt to make the audience squirm for gore alone. I like being scared, not finishing a movie and saying "that is fucked up."

Not sure, still shows Michael Myers for me.  At any rate, he doesn't need to defend his film or avatar choices. Just poking some fun. Attachment Attached File

Thank you. Looks pretty average to me. People are oversensitive wimps nowadays. Had The Exorcist came out today it would probably be banned, censored.

Yeah, anybody can do gory special effects.

Scaring the crap out of the audience without any gore or violence?   That's good filmmaking.

Brings to mind, something which happened a long time ago.  At the Cambridge cinema (it's been so long I might get the name wrong), John Waters was there introducing his new movie "Desperate Living". He was doing a question answer segment prior to the showing.

A college student trying to sound so knowledgeable posed a lengthy question about his feelings about his art, aim's in movie making etc.

Waters replied, "My aim is to make the trashiest movies I can for the least amount of money."

Movies that concentrate just on slashing and gore aren't, in my opinion, horror movies. I like supernatural or monster thrillers; a maniac hacking at screaming teens with a machete or chainsaw does nothing for me.

So I looked spoilers up; it's torture porn with a bit of cannibalism.

The reports of people getting sick sound like a marketing ploy though.

Doesn't look like it in the preview. That automatically makes Terrifier 2 look better than 9 out of 10 movies being released these days. That's pretty sad.

“Terrifier” was like an 80’s throwback. A homage to the golden age of gore.
