If all you need is something to haul around your skinny jeans and
a cell phone... knock yourself out.

Just don't stop me from being able to haul man stuff.

By the time it is brought up to US standards for emissions, 5 MPH bumpers, airbags, etc... it will be close to a real car in cost. Look what they did to the smart car.
The dude that got his Ferrari stuck in an alley could have used one though.

I'd buy that in a heartbeat if they make it with hand crank windows, manual transmission and an AM radio.

Sure, both ways get to the same place.

Just imagine, give the throttle a blip and watch the axles twist apart...

Boo.

It's not like you can drive a super duty through most of Rome or many of the other old European cities anyway.

It's perfect for streets like this.

Its gonna need a hyabusa swap.

I got to see a cut away smart car that showed all the metal added to make it meet US crash standards. IIRC they had to add 800 lbs of steel to it, which the guy said almost doubled the weight of the of the "frame".

Yeah, I've been in a few old European walled city streets where even the midsize sedan I was driving seemed like an aircraft carrier.   Had to do an Austin Powers 18-point turn in one spot.   My travelling partner got his Audi A4 stuck there, and we actually had to recruit some local guys to help pick the back end up and slew it around a few feet.

Those little cars are perfect for the people who live in those places and just need to do their normal errands.
