Not sure the bike would stay running very long at 20:1 without fouling the hell out of the plug.

You know what's a hell of a lot more expensive than a fouled plug? A complete bottom end rebuild. Add the damned oil.

How much do you think the fine is if you get caught dumping gasoline in a storm drain?  Beyond that, do you ever fish?  Because someone downstream of you does and they probably eat the fish.

Far far better to run that gas in a riding lawnmower or use it to burn leaves or brush then to contaminate the waterways with it.

If the color test isn't obvious, dump it down a storm drain and start over.

Not worth ruining something over $15.

Use it to light some tires on fire on Earth Day.

He's saying that if you double the oil on 40:1 you get 20:1.

20:1 is a lot better than none.  Maybe a little smokey.

You have the sense of humor of a grapefruit.

Taking the lid off a gas can and smelling it enough to see if it has 2-stroke oil in it isn’t going to give you cancer. You shouldn’t even have to hold it up to your nose. Put your mask back on, Karen.

Years ago, we had a group at work that went out every Thursday.  One of my friends had a headache and did not go one Thursday, he went home instead.  That night his wife took him to the hospital where they found he had an inoperable brain tumor caused by benzene exposure.  We buried him about two weeks later.

I can tell you similar stories about butadiene.

Rules on the job regarding benzene and butadiene exposure are very strict.  There are no rules once the benzene and butadiene is blended into gasoline and is at a gas station.

Bad idea on the truck.

OP, burn some on the ground. You know what a damned 2 stroke smells like.

Sad for your friend, but many of us worked as kids, doing things like pumping gas. I did, back when gas would stain your fingers. Your example is an outlier. There had to have been some industrial grade inhaling somewhere in his past. Heck, I used to save money on cleaning parts before I bought a hot tank, by hand scrubbing stuff with straight gasoline. No clue if my behavior is the result of such exposure, but I bet I was just born this way.

Have an old push mower laying around? Run the gas out of it and put a bit in and see if the exhaust makes any smoke or smells like 2 stroke burning. Make sure to dump whatever is left after testing out and put some fresh gas through the mower.

4 strokes very seldom smoke with pre mix.

Make a habit of adding your fuel additives to the can BEFORE filling it with fuel, which will also ensure more thorough mixing.

This.  Unless I am doing a partial fill and I add the fuel first and oil to match.

I live in Florida. I’m not from here. You know what they say about assumptions? They make you look like a dicksmack.

Good for you though. You almost made a joke.

I think I'm going to swtich from Castor 927 to something with some dye in it......

I'm thinking about taking a gallon out of my 5gallon tank...and put a 40:1 mix of oil in it.  That way if it's already got oil in it, it's going to be 20:1....super heavy on the oil.

I'll put it in the bike......it's either going to run fine, or smoke like a pig. That should tell me what's in the 5gallon tank.

This is what you want op, castor causes a lot of carbon and requires more frequent rebuilds. This is synthetic and what the racers use in their 2 stroke karts. More power, higher RPM, less junk ends up in the combustion chamber and its dyed red.

if you have a few days pour some in a mason jar (not much) and let it evaporate. there will be some oil residue if you mixed it.

And smells great.  I used Klotz in the two-stroke street bikes I had in the late 60s and early 70s.  Didn't have to worry about pre-mix since they had oil injection and sight glass.  Just had to glance to see if more Klotz was needed.

I don't think dumping gas in a storm drain would hurt anything downstream if you tossed a match in.

Could also fill bottles and stuff a rag in the top.  Take the bottles to a BLM riot to sell and make big bucks.
