When I make it from scratch I put some scallion, tamari (a type of soy sauce), and some black pepper.  Sometimes add onions and hot sauce too.

A little bit of erythritol/monkfruit sweetener and cinnamon.  Occasionally I'll add a little butter.

It's funny how people think oatmeal is healthy then load it up with massive amounts of sugar and other unhealthy shit.

Oatmeal is a delivery system for other stuff that tases good.

No different than mush, porridge, malt o meal, grits, or any other disgusting food you have to load up with spices and sweeteners to choke down to make a turd.

Steel cut. Little salt and pepper. Two eggs fried in hot bacon grease, so the edges are crispy, over medium. Dump eggs and grease on top of oats.

Or thick rolled and cooked with dates, dried apples, walnuts, pecans or whatever else fruit and nut is available.

Thick rolled, add home made wheat toast, butter, peanut butter.

I like oats pretty much any way.

Steel cut, uncooked "overnight oats."

1 part oats, 1.25 parts milk, salt.

Stir it up and let it sit in the fridge for a day. Two days is better.

I like it with blueberries and honey, or just dollops of apple butter.

Good, steel cut oats are tasty by themselves with little salt and some form of fat.

Fresh ground hominy, same.

If you let your palate go back to being satiated without all the added shit,  you can appreciate the simple flavors for what they are.

We've been making bread from fresh ground wheat berries. The sublime, simple flavor of just that by itself is special.

Malted, then fermented with corn for a couple weeks, drained and the liquid distilled.

Quaker Old Fashioned, boiling water, mixed in a bowl, then into microwave for 60 seconds. After cooking in MW, cover on top for steaming for 4 minutes.

Then sweet-n-low, some cinnamon and a few teaspoons of coffee-mate creamer.  Maybe some honey.

Taste great this way, nothing fancy and I dont need to order any exotic seasoning from Sumatra like a lot of GD'ers will have to do

Yeah.  I've always like oatmeal, and one of the best moves I ever made diet-wise was to ditch the instant loaded-with-sugar crap and switch to making my own from steel-cut oats and adding the same sweeteners you listed (including the stevia variants) with some nuts and cinnamon  I also learned that the absolute best method for doing this was using a pressure cooker (an Instant Pot in my case).  Quick and near effortless, with excellent results.  I can make enough to last me for weeks in one shot.
