Credit where it’s due
Not something I would ever buy but was gifted a 4 pack of it. Its easily the best tasting beer I’ve ever had. Apparently there’s only one place in the USA with monks that brew this type of beer here. Delicious. Attached File |

Never had that stuff, but Trappist Ale is absolutely delicious.
Top work, OP |

This stuff tastes full of flavor and amazing but none of the weird “non beer” flavors I get with most of the craft stuff |

Chimay is so far the best beer I've enjoyed. I'll give that one a try.

Beers I actually like are few and far between. If I see it, I'll try it.

Sounds good OP....
I have been drinking beer for a long time and remember my first encounter with Yuengling....hotel in Allentown, PA, just flew in for business and went straight to the bar and ordered a Yuengling on tap....oh my goodness, I was hooked. So Yuengling is now my favorite, actually prefer Yuengling Light |

They also make strawberry preserves on the same property, I think other fruit preserves as well.
Never tried the beer though. |

Orval is my favorite Trappist beer, hefeweizen and NEIPA are my favorite year-round styles, malty is good in the fall/winter, and stouts are great for sitting by the fire.
The best beer is the cold one in your hand |

I like La Trappe Dubbel from the Netherlands better than any of the Belgian Trappist Ales.
For those that don't know, it's not really a Trappist beer if it doesn't say Trappist on the bottle. There are beers labeled Abby beers that are brewed in the style Trappist ales. Some of them are good but they aren't really brewed in an Abby by monks. |

Maybe he is a Monk, but he doesnt wear the traditional brown dress |

View Quote That’s a good one. Also Chimay Blue, I even have the chalice for it. Ommegang 3 philosophers is awesome too. |

It's pretty good, but not the best trappist. It is 'murican though.

The monks of the many Catholic monasteries preserved both the brewing arts and the bible through the dark ages. |

Thought this would be an Old Milwaukee thread, but it's better!
