They do that in everything now because they don't have to pay people more money to be in the next movie. There was no reason to kill everyone in Rogue One.

Finished it while sitting at my computer. Said “Huh” and stared at the black screen for half an hour, then went to bed.

A friend of mine has a similar reaction when we watched the movie in a group setting a few years later.

I'm glad I was at home the first time I watched Serenity. I screamed no so loud and in such an anguished way that my neighbor, who I'd never met, came over and knocked on my door to see if everything was all right.

The credits started rolling and we went, "Wow... they really DID kill him off that early...."

I laughed for 5 minutes straight when that happened. I was so glad the rest of the movie would be proceeding without him.

An old one but Body Heat with Kathleen Turner when she was still really hot. It's the first movie I recall where the criminal walks away at the end of the film as the winner, totally successful in her setup of a fall guy and the execution of her crimes.

I'm not a fan of Trace Adkins as an actor, he seems to always be playing the same character in every movie. The rest of Old Henry however, was good. The ending was awesome.

This one was a coincidence. Check out This Forbes article for the explanation and evolving origin of that plot line.

Vader and Luke's father were seperate characters in A New Hope and the original draft of The Empire Strikes Back, but just like everything Lucas does he takes it back later and retcons, or in the ESB script case pre-release retcons, his own work over and over. Part of me is happy someone else is at the helm of the franchise now, but is disappointed it's Disney.
