Got it. We can't have our unicorn so we should have gone with Merrick Garland.
None of the 'conservative' justices have done very well in protecting the 4th amendment. Kagan and the wise latina have done better. But they're worse on just about everything else including and especially 2A issues. |

Rather than trying to round up anybody who they can get to say got felt up by him, how about they actually grill him about his voting record and interpretation of the constitution? As it stands, they're going to move to a vote having only discussed how he feels about beer. |

View Quote There's plenty of acceptable names on the list President Trump has that are for the cause of liberty. Amy Comey Barrett comes to mind, another female, and Catholic. Attacks on her would probably be spun by the media, but anyone that identified like her could get galvanized. But no. |

She'll be next. After RGB drifts off to sleep forever.
They miscalculated and thought Kavanaugh would be slightly easier to confirm due to Barrett's solid pro-life stance. |

Trump could have nominated Noam Chomsky and the dems would have done everything in their power to delay and fight it just because that was his suggestion.

And, had they actually gone through the confirmation process, several R''s would have voted to confirm Garland since there was no reason to object to him other than on political grounds. Just like Kagan and Sotomayor.

View Quote If you listen to Trump's speeches from a few weeks ago, he talks about how long the confirmation will take, nobody should have to go through that, their family shouldn't have to deal with it, etc. Basically giving Kav an out if he wanted to withdraw. |

But who fucking cares about the Constitution? Catholics have been grilled before about their religion for public office (JFK comes to mind, as well as Alfred Smith). |

It's way easier for them (liberal senators) to go to their constituents at a later date and defend bringing up sexual assault as it's something their narrow minded constituents can wrap their collective heads around and yell rabble rabble rabble. If they went to them (constituents) saying "He voted this way, he voted that way" the constituents would collectively say "TL,DR"... says a lot more about the people who vote for them than the actual senators themselves but I think we all can agree anyone that votes for Booker is brain dead in the first place. It's just a show. |

Because they (liberal senators) want to focus on the low hanging fruit that is sexual assault.
