I went and drove one a while back. It was very disappointing. You’d think it would be somewhat quick but it was not. You’d think the tranny wouldn’t be mushy but you’d be wrong. |

Manly commuter with great gas mileage is a whole bunch of oxymoron.
If you can afford it, a bmw 3 or 4 series would be a great choice. But any sedan is going to get much better mileage than a truck. |

Quoted: What can you afford? How about an older 300 with a nice leather interior? I can't think of a "manlier" looking sedan than the earlier Chrysler 300s. Get yourself one of those little three wheeled Euro cars from the 50s and 60s. Can't recall the make or model. There was a local guy who ran one around and had a couple of donor parts cars in his yard. Real manly....

Quoted: Ummm gas is over $4 in a lot of the country. I'm paying $4.50 for premium pretty regularly View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Fair enough. I just did a search on Toyota for hybrid only RAV4s within 50 miles and all but one were about $5,600 more than the standard. So reworking our numbers, it would take around 10 years of driving 15,000 miles a year and gas at $4.00/gallon to break even on the difference between the two. Obviously gas prices and miles driven directly impact the equation. I doubt we see gas get to $4.00 again and if it gets there, it likely won’t stay long. Even if gas were $6.00/gallon it would still take 8 years to break even. Ummm gas is over $4 in a lot of the country. I'm paying $4.50 for premium pretty regularly And Summer is coming. |

get a ~2013 audi a3
all wheel drive 2.o turbo should be under $15k in the 75,ooo mile range 40mpg easily with a practical hatch but still rewarding driving experience in the corners. |

My wife expedition max gets 18-20 average eco 3.5 is that manly enough.
No you have a great question and I have never given a thought to buying a car. I don’t know shit about it but the Subaru with all wheel drive might be an option. My friend drives a Hindu or some shit like that. Hey they get mileage but damn they are noisy inside. I’m thinking Toyota or Subaru. I drive a f350 4 wd double cab I am at one with 10mpg but I carry a lot of shit and a 2000 pound liftmoore crane. |

Another option would be a Mercury Grand Marquis with the HPP package. Has the suspension and brake setup of a crown Vic interceptor.

I drive a Prius. I don’t give a fuck if it’s macho or not. I get 40mpg.
You know what’s macho? Getting to take vacations because I saved money driving. Getting to buy my kids whatever they need, because I saved money on gas. Stop giving a shit what others think about you. And if you are trying to score a chick with a car, she will just leave you when she sees a Lamborghini drive by. |

Quoted: I want a Subaru Crosstrek 6 speed manual. I live where there is a lot of snow and commute with my kids a lot of the time. That was one SMOOTH ride-as smooth as our FJ. Quality vehicle. I was impressed. I sold my underwhelming 2019 Toyota RAV4 not long after. |

I'd run the numbers first. You can easily pay more money to "save gas" after payments, insurance, etc.
If you just want another vehicle to rack up miles on and don't care about costs just get whatever you want. |

2016 or 17 Honda Accord coupe with a 3.5L v6. Mine has 330hp and gets 35mog on the highway

My last three, over the years, drive to work every day cars were a Genesis Coupe Track model, an IROC Z28 and a Z28. Fun on the way to work, fun on the way home from work.
The Genesis Coupe (3.8 6 speed manual) got around 21 to 22 mpg in town driving. The IROC Z28 (5.0 TPI 700r4 automatic) got 20 to 21 mpg in town driving. The Z28 (350 4 speed manual) got around 14 mpg in town driving. I detest 4 door cars. Little bitty short doors good for nothing. I had trucks, too. Drove those when the weather was bad. |

I’ve been looking for a clean Lexus ct200h F sport for the daily commute. Everything right now is too damn expensive.

Quoted: Hybrid Toyotas are ideal commuter cars. No conventional transmission (simple), great mpg, incognito. Fuck what other people think or how it looks. It's a commuter. Quoted: The Ford fusion is a good looking sedan, cheap maintenance and good fuel mileage. Of course you'd get better mileage with a compact, but it sounds like you'd want something bigger.
