It's a East Coast IPA. About 56 IBUs. Centennial and Chinook are the aroma hops. Needs to have "horse" somewhere in the name. Military references are welcome.

Pierce's Carriage (or Carriage Horse if you must). Franklin Pierce was president in 1856 (56IBU reference), was a big drinker, and allegedly ran a woman down in his carriage (which may or may not have contributed to the Democrats refusing to nominate him for a second term, the only time this ever happened). If your beer is a bit reckless, and a believer in strict constitutional constructionism (Pierce was maybe the last Democrat that could be so described) then he's your man, one way or another. Also, bonus points for epic comb-over. ETA: Pierce was a native of New Hampshire, and was thrown by his horse in the Mexican-American war. |
