The thump could just be the expanding in the heat of the day, and contracting in the evening. I have a 9 year old house that makes thumping sounds ocassionally as it's cooling off at night. Ammo cans will do this too. Scares the shit out of me every time. I have a bunch of ammo cans in my home office that do this. Also a 1 gal wet dummy load (think a paint can full of resistors and transformer oil). It has a pressure release valve with a cap over it that makes little popping and gurgling noises as the temperature changes. On top of that, the exhaust duct for the furnace goes through the closet in that room. I keep the thermostat at around 50 during the day and will turn it up at night. LOTS of noises from that room

My wifes family lived in a haunted house when she was growing up and while we dated.
Footsteps upstairs, whistling (to a tune, not wind blowing), curtains pulled back at a window like someone was looking out, and then lowered (not the wind blowing) Her sister actually saw the ghost. Woman with long white dress and long dark hair. One time sighting over years of other stuff going on. Her mother was telling the old neighbor lady about the sister seeing the lady in white with long dark hair and the neighbors mouth dropped open. The lady that died in that house years ago fit that description to a tee. There have been several other families in and out of that house since then, some staying less than a year, but my wifes family lived there longer than anyone has since. |

4 nights ago my wife and I were laying in bed after just putting the kids to bed 20 min before. daughter yelld DAD COME IN HERE NOW. I go in to see what happened. Both her (10 yrs old) and my boy (5yrs old) said her light turned on by itself. It is a ceiling fan light with a pull cord. Funny thing is I was in the next room and was wondering why my daughter was turning her light back on because I heard it click. Not the only thing to happen in this house but the scariest lately. Daughter now refuses to sleep downstairs. |

We stood there for a minute watching it and listening to the music. It just kept playing. My brother flipped on the light so that we could walk up the stairs into the attic. The second he turned on the light, all three castles turned off together. My brother turned off the light, and closed the attic door. Neither one of us really wanted to go up there and investigate. We stood there for a second talking about how freaky that was. When we started to walk back to his office, all three castles came on again simultaneously. Now, these things aren't hooked together. They aren't light sensitive or anything. They are just plastic castles that play music when you push a button. We opened the door to the attic and you could see the lights reflecting on the walls again. My brother's GSD went upstairs ahead of us, and the music kept playing. The second my brother turned on the attic light, ALL THREE turned off again. We went upstairs and he showed me where they were. The castles were in separate paper shopping bags. Two were on a bench, one was on the floor about three feet away from the others. He told me that they have experienced many things like this in the house, but never tell anyone about them because they wouldn't believe it if they didn't see it. He said one night when his daughter was very little, he heard her crying in her room. When he went to check on her, she told him that "The old man was being mean to her." Then she said, " But it's ok, the Big Dog protects me." My brother had had another GSD that had passed away when she was about six months old, so she never knew him. He was huge, about 130 lbs. He used to sleep in her bedroom at night. Weird. I can't explain what happened with the castles, but it was beyond freaky. |

When I was a little kid in the 80s my parents had a that was built in the mid 1800s, it was in the heart of mining country up in the UP, and was built during the boom. Some strange stuff used to happen there. They told me when I was a baby the baptismal crucifix above my crib used to end up flung across the room and that they could hear noises upstairs when no one was there.
So yeah, I wouldn't doubt there could be some crazy stuff going on. Get yourself a digital voice recorder and leave it run overnight a few times and see if anything shows up. Unless you might be scared of what you find

What you have is either a demon, a malevolent spirit or a benevolent one that is desperately seeking your attention and help. sadly, all three will not be easy to deal with. depending on what the demon's purpose is the best way to deal with it would be to ignore it, the best way to do that is to stay positive and stay busy. paint every room in the house a bright and "happy" color, think Easter egg colors. you will need to get the supplies one day and then the paint on the morning you plan on painting. you will need to prep and paint and clean up all in the same day or you'll just find a puddle of paint on the floor and all your prep work piled on top of it in an attempt to anger you. your best bet is to have friends help then have a small party later. The trouble with demons is that they need to be invited, asked for, in order to have an effect on you. the worst part is that it may not have even been you that sought it's help, could have been another family member from generations ago but now it's time to pay up. Once you appear to be a lost cause things should stop. If things get worse then consult the clergy. The malevolent spirit is slightly less troublesome but would still be thwarted by the same method. I grew up in houses supposedly full of "paranormal activity." I never saw shit that was unexplained. Not once. Everyone else supposedly did. Given my experiences growing up, I'm going to firmly throw out he BS flag on any claims of this type. In my experience its the people who "want to believe" who seem to always be seeing "unexplained occurrences." |

I used to share a house with my friend and his family, when we first moved in his little girl would say some freaky shit. She would say that she didn,t want to go out the front door because there was a dead arm in the concrete of the porch.
I had a room that was adjacent to the garage and would constantly hear scratching in the wall. The attic of this place was completly empty, but smelled like something was dead in it. Aftrer a few months the little girl would wake up in the middle of the night telling her mom and dad she was choking, and that she couldn't breathe. It was also about this time she would tell her mom she was playing in her room with her friends, except that these friends had names like baezel, or azreal. Not those names exactly, but along those lines. I was like
Anyhow she said they were nice. It was one called black frankie that choked her and his little demon children would laugh.

That's creepy, dude. I do believe in ghosts, although I've never actually seen one. At the same time, I am a little skeptical of stories. Seen some weird things before though. One morning a few years ago, my youngest son was maybe a year old. He had one of those motorized baby swings that plays music (when you hit the music button). Well, I was up around 4:30am getting ready for work in my usual routine.....take a shower, get my work clothes, head for the living room to turn on the news. I turned on the TV, went to get a soda, and went back to the sofa for some TV. I keep all the lights out except for the kitchen when I get up. But I walked into the living room and that little baby swing was going full bore with the music playing! Freaked me the fuck out, you have to turn the thing on, let it warm up for a minute or so to get swinging. But this thing was going. I was wide awake, and I remember going over to it and turning it off.
I stood there for a minute and listened for anything, but got weirded out and left to work.....told my wife, she basically called me a liar. There's been other strange things I've seen in houses I've lived in as a kid. I have to say, Ohio was the worst.... |

Never yell obsceneties, never challenge it/them, and until you're sure it's not a demon do not interact with it. Under NO circumstances ever EVER bring a ouija into your house or ever use one, at least until you have cleared this up.
