Close quarters beatdown stick?

20-22 ounce T-ball bat.

Something stickier or stabbier or slicier will get you noticed.

Of course, if that doesn't matter, Zombie Tools.

This one is 30" OAL, but I can make them whatever I want, it's got decent weight to it but not overly heavy. The gear is out of a Valley sprinkler gearbox, and the bottom of the handle is made from some of the worm gear that I cut off. I made one for my buddy that has the bottom shaped more like a baseball bat. This one comes to a point at the bottom.

I see no beads, how is the head held in place?

Drilled holes, filled them with weld then spun it on the lathe and ran emory cloth to smooth it up. There's 4 holding the head to the shaft, no homo.

But I think if I do another one I want to make the shaft the female part and turn the head down to press inside of the tubing and weld it in place so everything is covered by the hockey tape wrap.

Your suggestions please.

In anticipation of questions:

1. Q: Why not swords?  A: Because Gladius.  I don't need a suggestion when I already know the answer.

2. Q: Why not knives?  A: We have a million threads.

3. Q: What application or circumstances?  A: Melee and smiting of enemies in general.

Scractched my tomahaw itch recently.  but would consider another one.

I was issued one of these pieces of shit. Ditched it almost immediately.

Unless you're willing to train with it regularly it's worse than useless. You're far better off with a straight stick.

Skip the mace collar, just get a pattern of 1908 helve.  The collar was a novelty, everyone carried a helve.  I've got two of the helve heads, one stamped 1916 and one stamped 1944.  The '44 is crisp and sharp at the edges.  Wouldn't take a superman to put the narrow end through a helmet.

Braveheart, in the following two scenes:

1) After his wife is murdered when Mel Gibson pretends to surrender, I believe it was a flail (with nubs instead of spikes) concealed under his hair that he used to kick off the whole uprising.

2) After his red-haired buddy's dad got his hand cut off he went into the next battle with a chain flail attached to the nub here his hand used to be.

...and you will have a light weapon that will blind and disorient an attacker, and with the weight of the six D cell batteries it has more mass than a baseball bat and it can crack a skull open.  Plus, it's completely legal to carry in your vehicle.  There is no such thing as an illegal flashlight.

Try a crowbar

Sturdy, easy to obtain, heavy enough to be used as clubs but not heavy enough to impair movement, and they have two bladed points too.

Extremely.

But it's hard to teach actors and extras to use them.

It's real easy to smash your own knees and knuckles or the back of your own head with them. (Just like Nunchucks.)

With a good swing, the speed will maximize the impact for the weight.

A Noggenlopper.  It is a heart shaped pole axe about the weight of a shovel head, in which the vee is just the right width to find the neck.  The outside edges are sharp as well, and gently taper to the shaft.  There is a lightly spring loaded sliding "handle" that has grooves which allow it to slide up the blades.  The "handle" is an enticing feature to the enemy, where a sharp jerk on your part will remove fingers and badly damage the hand.

The humps are also rather pointed and can stab if you miss centering on the neck or limb.  The return stroke cuts quite nicely as well if you miss on the thrust.

There is a sharp point on the other end of the shaft with a flange to prevent over penetration.
