I use masking tape.  I've bent a couple when they clang to hangar floor when the bands break.  

I also watched a guy in my shop try to use it on a geared engine.

This is a pneumatic hex cleco runner.

Your previous post included cleco pliers and a pneumatic solid rivet shaver.

I not only have a Lucas smoke reinstaller, I have a FiatAlfa one too. You can't use the Lucas tool on Italians cars, they use different kinds of smoke.

 I wish I had gotten one old and rarely used tool from an old employer of mine, it was similar to a tubing cutter , but with a flat edge cutting tool.  It was for turning down rod journals in a motor still in the car.  You tightened it down and cranked the car over with the starter to turn the journals down.  the end of it ran up and down the cylinder when in use.
