Inconsistent torque, sign of a hack.. I pay enough time on wheel off operation to have it torqued with torque wrench.

The only wheel offs and most stripped hubs I've ever seen involved a torque stick.

I wonder in the cases you have seen if the impact gun was tuned to give the correct amount of torque to the stick and if the correct stick was used in the first place.

not even gonna bother with any of that or trying to check if the tech is doing what they're supposed to, we're not a high out put service shop we're a specialty shop, every tech should have a number of quality torque wrenches 1/4 drive through 1/2. 120NM on lug bolts is not a lot to ask out of a technician.

and yes, 88 ft/lbs is not a lot of torque, my 12v Milwaukee impact puts out 117

It's homemade and has been used a lot.
I hadn't used it in a long time. A couple weeks ago, my neighbor needed a head gasket on his 4.3. I was showing him what to do and brought that for him. It got the  look.

Gravy job indeed. When they first came out with that pump, you could only buy that tool from Kent more and it was expensive. Independent shops didn't want to spend the money and the aftermarket tool companies were slow to produce them. I did a metric shit ton. I probably made $200,000 in Northstar pumps and cross over jobs in those few years.

Fuck that noise. Would rather toil with self-adjusting rear calipers that have the brake mechanism than that stupid shit any day. Both my 1G Neon and my parents S10 Blazer suffered from that shitty design. There's basically no way to get the rotors off "clean" if they've been on the car for a while, so new rotors usually always meant new parking brake shoes, too.

Last time I used mine I forgot to disengage it (Like they ever disengage right?) and drove to work without even noticing.
