Nope. To me, they’re taking cultural/religious self defense to its logical (and historically normal) conclusion.

People with cultural, religious, ethnic, and traditional similarities form nations based on their shared customs and reject those who don’t. That was the norm for most of human history. Even the Roman Empire didn’t try and make everyone of one culture. You payed your taxes and followed the law and you were left alone.

Culture and religious beliefs are different.

It just strikes me as funny that a country that came into being due to "persecution" is committing it themselves.

You would think Israel would be the beacon of inclusion and freedom for the world. no?

Yeah, the emperor was a god king and a failure to give him his due meant your life.

The Arab people of the region tried to exterminate their neighbors and lost. Now they almost certainly have a far higher living standard than they would have if the Jews haven't showed up (compare life expectancy and literacy rates in Palestine with other small and poorly governed Arab countries that have no oil).

I won’t take words on a screen to heart.

My grandfather was an angry man, i didn’t have much of a relationship with him but I respected him.

I do not believe recognizing the atrocity of the holocaust disrespects him or any others who served. WWII veterans are borderline worshipped as deities in their home countries. Even the liberals love the soldiers of wwii.

All the people were Arab. So how an Arab won or lost is not for debate.

The Arab nations do not have a higher standard of living because of the state of Israel. That is a leap.

The idea that the middle east was living in caves before the west showed up is just weird.

By logic. The cradle of humanity is in the middle east. So they say. So the oldest part of humanity is the least advanced?

"During the high medieval period, the Islamic world was at its cultural peak, supplying information and ideas to Europe, via Andalusia, Sicily and the Crusader kingdoms in the Levant. These included Latin translations of the Greek Classics and of Arabic texts in astronomy, mathematics, science, and medicine. Other contributions included technological and scientific innovations via the Silk Road, including Chinese inventions such as paper and gunpowder.

The Islamic world also influenced other aspects of medieval European culture, partly by original innovations made during the Islamic Golden Age, including various fields such as the arts, agriculture, alchemy, music, pottery, etc.

Many Arabic loanwords in Western European languages, including English, mostly via Old French, date from this period.[2] This includes traditional star names such as Aldebaran, scientific terms like alchemy (whence also chemistry), algebra, algorithm, etc. and names of commodities such as sugar, camphor, cotton, etc"

Not necessarily. Rome wasn't tollerent of new religions. Christianity was left alone for a while because of their similarities with Judaism (already allowed), but then they were suddenly persecuted. Cant remember if because it was enough difference between the two that it was considered different amd therefore not allowed, or if they were just plain blamed for what was going on at that time. Gotta study up again.....

They were persecuted for refusing to revere the emperor as a god. If they had just been slightly different jews it would have been no big deal. But because gentiles were converting to Christianity the Romans were losing donations to their pantheon.

Some guy is trying to prove that Israel is evil because it prevented the glorious Arab-run paradise in Palestine.
Nevermind the fact that Palestinian population is doing far better than virtually every other small Arab state that doesn't have oil, entirely due to the existence of Israel.

It's kind of the same narrative as BLM, only far more retarded because Palestinians were never slaves. The one historic wrong they've been whining about for the past 70 years is that the Jews refuse to be ethnically cleansed. What an outrage, eh?

my Great grandpa was a converted jew. He was Lutheran.

There are a few families around here. All successful, and all good people.

My point is we are all equal. To hate the jews is mostly projection of self hatred.

A life spent to save and improve  life is always worthwhile.

All good people want to save and improve the lives of their people and make peace with their enemies.

Obviously, an exact count is impossible.  Just like exact counts of Stalin and/or Mao's victims are also impossible to determine,
but we know the numbers were staggering.
Six million seems to have stuck and whether or not it was "merely" say, five million, it's still a horrifying number.

I Googled it and the first mention of that number was by a Nazi SS officer quoting Eichmann:

The number seems to have first been mentioned by Dr. Wilhelm Hoettl, an Austrian-born official in the Third Reich and a trained historian who served in a number of senior positions in the SS.

In November 1945, Hoettl testified for the prosecution in the Nuremberg trials of accused Nazi war criminals. Later, in the 1961 trial in Israel of Adolf Eichmann, he also submitted to a lengthy series of questions from the prosecution, speaking under oath from a courtroom in Austria.

On both occasions, he described a conversation he had had with Eichmann, the SS official who had principal responsibility for the logistics of the Jewish genocide, in Budapest in August 1944. In the 1961 testimony, Hoettl recalled how “Eichmann … told me that, according to his information, some 6,000,000 Jews had perished until then -- 4,000,000 in extermination camps and the remaining 2,000,000 through shooting by the Operations Units and other causes, such as disease, etc.”

My evasion is a play on the old Russian joke -
The "Jewish question" is the question you get in response to asking a Jew anything
There are a number of classic ways this joke plays out on the internet, and even a form of "Jewish duel" where two people strive to ask each other increasingly convoluted questions, until one of them is forced to make a declarative statement or repeat a question.

EDIT:
Example - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-Sx4W2cKlU

I don't like to talk about myself, but since you have this burning desire to know, I'll claim that I'm not a Jew by any reasonable standard.

A Christian believes in GOD the FATHER, GOD the SON and GOD the HOLY SPIRIT.

A Muslim believes in alah as their god and muhammad as their prophet.

Atheist = a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.

So. I would be safe in saying no. Interesting question, as I think you already know the answer to this. Waiting to see where you are taking this...
