I picked the P-51 because the SR-71 was not on the list.

P-38

Flew UH-1s, AH-1s, AH-64s got a little stick time on an OH-58

Rode in UH-60, CH-47, C-5, B-17

Gonna take a ride on a P-40 if COVID doesn’t ruin things again this year.

Would most want to wiggle the sticks on a P-38

SR71 is cool but no sense of speed at that altitude

Mig killin' bomb truck.

I got to sit in one as a Cub Scout and later watch them at work in VN. If I could afford a warbird this would be it.

P6M, U-2 or a WB-57. You said US, because a US-2 would beat either.

Curious aviation trivia.  The guy that designed (or helped) the U2, SR-71, C-130 and F-117 also fixed the P-38 design.

Kelly Johnson was a hell of a brain.

I’d choose the A-10 if I got to BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT stuff.

Otherwise it seems pretty slow and boring.

Love the Skyraider.

I often think about how much of a game changer that aircraft would have been had it seen action in the Pacific in WWII - would have absolutely devastated Japanese island defenses like no other aircraft could have at the time.

Remember reading a maxim back in AIT that said it's more badass than a F1 race car.

Always wanted to fly helicopters in the .mil but my eyes were shit, and by time they started taking lasik I was too old. Oh well

Joining the P-38 club. Ever since about 5th grade or so it’s been my favorite airplane.
