I’d have to know the long term ramifications for altering history.  Even then, there’s VERY few that I’d be willing to kill myself. They’d have to be very clearly not easily replaced. Hitler, Bin Laden. Even Lenin or Stalin I think were as much products of the society as the creator. I mean, if you killed Lenin, Russia was still going to be communist. If you killed Stalin, would Hitler have done better in the East? While killing Bin Laden wouldn’t stop extremist Islamic terrorism, I do think that without him it wouldn’t have gotten as organized.

Anyway, the point is, they’d have to be truly evil, their absence make a difference, and that difference have a major positive impact. And like Iron Man, my current family doesn’t get affected by the timeline shift. Not willing to sacrifice them.

He thinks he is virtue signaling, which is odd because those who put the racist label on others seem to be the most truly racist of all.

Interesting choice.  It's right up there with Vlad the Impaler I suppose.  Thing is, just like Vlad the Impaler, basically saved Europe from invading Muslim hordes, old Genghis Khan kind of did similar.   Allow me to introduce you to the Shah Ala al-din Mohammed; who Genghis stopped and bitch-slapped.

https://www.historynet.com/facing-the-wrath-of-the-khan/

Your "travel back in time to kill an obvious evil bad man", may not give the utopionistic result that you were hoping for.

Me: Mankinds most monumental fuck up and squandering, is WW1.  We transitioned from an era of toil to a magical era of wonder with incredible and cheap food (industrial fertilizer) and a world where steam and industrial power displaced miserable human muscle power.  An era and dawning of a magical utopia.  So we used all that, to kill each other on an industrialized scale.  If going back and killing the "I'm hungry and want a sandwich" fuck-stain Gavrilo Princip who killed Ferdinand, I would if I thought it would stop it.  But, it probably wouldn't have mattered, I don't think anything could have stopped that.

Napoleon ended France' Guillotine behead everybody the mob feels like today, reign of terror, and actually created a fairly well run and just France, in comparison.  Most places he took over, were better off for it.   France was a not a good place to be, before Napoleon.

Nearly all major conflicts in the 20th century were a direct or indirect result of the writings and ideology espoused by Marx. Sure someone else might've filled the shoes, but the guy did a heck of a job. Marxists or their communist bretheren have been at odds with rational leadership and geopolitics for over a century now, have generated so much political strife, have spawned so many violent countermovements as a result of their actions. He almost single handedly popularized a way of thought that, frankly has plagued the globe and poisoned it's thinking for generations.

I feel if Hitler was taken out, WW2 would have possibly ended differently, likely for the worst, or at least with more allied casualties.

Some of his poor decision making helped the nazi's meet their fate.

Killed early enough, the Nazis might not have ever become anything more than a crank minor Bavarian local party with a handful of seats in the Reichstag.

Then again, another authoritarian faction might have seized power.  Like the communists.

Slavery was a global phenomenon.  While I don’t think it was a good thing, it was often better than the alternative.

I can understand attempting to prevent the development of slavery, but why not go back to at least Sumeria for that?

That's pretty damn racist.

Imagine if instead of being brought here as slaves, their forefathers had to come here on their own merits. There wouldn't be the excuse of century-old slavery to blame. I'm willing to bet the US would look very different today, and the behaviors of most people would be much different also.
