NO. 1938 Ford Coupe, one of he last years on Fords of mechanical brakes. I could not stop going down a steep hill. Radiator wood blow out going over 60 MPH, no A/C of course.
It was a long time ago (55 years, I was 14) and even if I had lots of storage space and tons of money I would not want it. It did have a real cool crank out windshield. I say a restomod the guy did a real nice job on, modern brakes A/C, still no. |

Yes!
1990 Jeep XJ Cherokee. A red 2 door, 4wd, 4.0L with 5 speed. I absolutely loved it, but didn't have the funds to keep it and fix it up the way it needed to be done. It was sold new in Canada so the speedometer was in kilometers per hour. |

I drove clapped out shit boxes until I retired, so he’ll no.
One particular car I owned in the service was a badly abused ford Fairlane. It had only good spring/shock on the front right side. I didn’t have door keys so I screwed on hasps and used padlocks. I also had chain with a padlock for the steering wheel lock. Like anyone was going to steal it! The tail lights were screwed on trailer lights. To make it look better I just ripped out the head liner and put a piece of carpet on the front bench seat. The safety inspection for the Base Sticker brought out the Gunny who just laughed. I didn’t spend money on it because it spent most of its time in a mud lot as I was deployed a whole lot. |

Quoted: My first car was a 1960 Dodge Phoenix ...... 383 4bbl with a push button transmission. I was 13 years old, and I traded a guy the Honda CB-350 I used to ride around the neighborhood for it. Drove it home, and parked it in my parents driveway .....where it proceeded to leak every drop of fluid out of the engine and tranny My parents were pissed ..... About 3 weeks later, me and my dad (him driving) drove it to a junkyard ...... I got to keep the $125.00 though No ...... I don't want it back View Quote I'd sure love to have it. make it look just like my Grandpa's he used as a police car when it was new. His was a D-500 though. Attached File |

A totalled '97 Ford Ranger 2.3 gutless wonder? Looked exactly like this with a bright green pinstripe. I liked that truck but for a four cylinder it didn't get very good gas mileage and passing people on the highway was dangerous.

Quoted: It was a 78 Plymouth Bobcat just like this one. So, no. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/87/9a/d1/879ad114a6e61f33eb492e517ec6bc34.png View Quote I would drive the hell outta that thing. |

First vehicle I legally drove 72 Ford Bronco.price would be too high to buy now.
First vehicle I bought and paid for 85 Ford ranger 4x4. Can't buy now, been stripped, and remainder grabbed by the claw and thrown into the scrap pile. |
I’d love to have my first car back-1964 1/2 Ford Mustang 6 cylinder automatic.
1976 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40? Without a second thought, definitely! Attached File
This isn’t it, but it was a soft top. |
My first car was a rust free 1965 Corsair that I paid 60 bucks for when I was 15 back in the ghetto. Yes I think I would, especially if I could get it for the 60 bucks I paid the first time.
No I drove that car hard, and I can't drive 55,
Loved it. Lifted rear, street and drag tires. Bought bough off the Chief of NAS Millington Security ( Gate Guard, student Sailors Air Force Marines). And Nuclear Weapons Police.... Did 5 years there, last two As a Detective for the Command CID. |

No, old clapped out Jeep my cousin sold me.
Currently driving an almost 20 year old Honda CRV. Paid off and clapped out is better than shiny and $$$ |
Absolutely. 1968 VW Bug, Baja kit, full cage, lite motor, transaxel and suspension work. Sold it to a high school buddy. That was back in 1981. 5-6 years ago I was back out in Cali for work. Drove through the old neighborhood, And it was sitting beside the garage at his parents house. Knocked on the door nobody home. left a note with my info. I would have bought it right then and there.
Fuck yeah I would.
1988 VW GTI 16v, Tornado Red. I loved that thing. |

Quoted: Not only no but heeellllll no. https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/177643/Untitled_jpg-2892061.JPG Turbo. And still 0-60 in 22 seconds Steering had about 30 degrees of play before the wheels responded. Smelled like dead rats because there were dead rats in it. No thanks. View Quote Hah! I had pretty much that same car in Germany - except mine was a two-door. Same color. Unbelievably slow. The parking brake also liked to randomly fail and then the car would roll away until it hit something else. I think I ended up putting chocks behind the rear wheels when I parked it after it wound up across the street a couple of times. Fun times with Lemon Lot cars... |

Yes. 1970 Mustang Convertible. Was plain jane white on white.
Had it all through high school and most of college, but blew the motor in my last year. Sold it to a college buddy who graduated a couple years earlier before me, and who I met because he had a '69 Mach 1 (white) that I'd park next to at the engineering school. He had sold his car, I guess, right after he graduated and missed it, and he came down for a homecoming football weekend while mine was sitting (I moved into the room he was renting when he graduated and moved to take his first real eng job). And he bought it. He showed up a couple years later for a homecoming game, and had taken it completely apart in his townhouse garage and put it all back together with a bit more of a Boss look...basically did all the stuff to it I never had the money to do...beefed up the motor, 4bb, headers and dual exhaust, Hurst shifter, yellow paint, hood scoop, front rock lip, wing maybe, better wheels and tires. Just had the interior to do to finish it up. Was pretty awesome, and I always have wanted to do similar. |
No, the last time I saw the car it was folded up like a taco thanks to a drunk driver…
Nope, because I would know that it has a salvage title and wouldn't trust that it was properly fixed after the way I totaled it.
1964 Ford falcon 3 on the tree. That car was pure freedom. But you could stop it like Fred Flintstone does. So I would like to sit it it one more time but I wouldn't want it
<---- Yes I would. I have would have bought it back from the junk yard, after the insurance company released it, but I didn't know that I could. I would at least have some parts off of it.
First car was a 72 Javelin that got totaled in 1983. I've replaced it with the 74 Javelin in my avatar.
'68 Chevy C10. Yup...
Well sort of. I think I know where it is - and it's for sale - but it's too far gone. Thing is just a cab. No doors, bed, etc. It's bad. I found my Grandfather's truck - the family had sold it after his passing. It was also super rough - but it's in the back yard now. Don't know if I'll ever get it going again - but I can look out back and think of him. |
1967 Mercury Cougar, cinnamon frost with a black vinyl top, Dan Gurney package.
I still have the bill of sale for it from the original sale. |
Hell no!
Data mining thread? First car is a common question for ID verification. |
No. It was stolen from the parking lot where I interned and found in Greektown, stripped down to the frame. State Farm wanted to “fix it.”
I'm pretty sure my first car has been recycled into something else by now.

My first car was a 1973 Z28 that I bought in 1976.
I probably wouldn't be able to afford it now. |
Yes.
A 1956 Chevy 4-door hardtop with the 265V8, power pack option. |
84 Ford Tempo. LOL Nope it can rot. My second was an 84 Pontiac 6000, it can also rot.
Now, my second car I got, yeah. I had a '92 Lincoln Town car exactly like this one, sold it for $1,800 to an old man.
Attached File |
My '84 diesel rabbit? No. I do still have one of the hub cabs from it hanging on the wall in my garage.
No, it was a piece of shit that I bought for $800. Manual that would get stuck in reverse about a third of the time.
‘89 Toyota Tercel, manual transmission and windows.
Nope, no go fast. Second car sure. Black 1990 Mazda B2200 SE-5, manual transmission and windows. Loved that little truck. |
First car… parted out what I could and sold the shell to a “we buy junk cars” guy. So… no
Second car (similar to first, just bought this one myself) sold as a rolling chassis to an 18 year old who basically gave me every penny he had for it. I doubt that project went anywhere as him and his dad were clearly in over their heads. So no on that one too lol I would like to have a nice example of one of these cars (3rd gen Camaro IROC-Z) but no way I’d pay the current price for one. |
