1962 Chevy wagon 6 cyl. 3 on the tree with a wrecked front fender. Living with my parents the mattress in the back had it's advantages. First dates were interesting, and they were often drive-in dates. Girls would see the mattress would ask me about it knowing just why I had it and I'd smile and say I liked it for camping out.

Awful. '55 Ford with electrical problems and Ohio cancer.
Base car was decent, V8, 3 on the tree, Mainline 2 door sedan. I'd like to have the same car (minus the rust) today. Not mine, but this is the body style. Attached File |

Quoted: I liked my 83 Delta 88. I'd probably get the air conditioner fixed though. View Quote Mine was an '84. Attached File |

It would be a blast! My first car was a 67 Barracuda.
Winter would sort of suck but, I'm retired so "F" it I can wait until the roads are plowed. |

Quoted: 1984 Jeep Cherokee with a 4cyl. It could not get our of its on way. And it was ugly as hell. Gold exterior with redish interior. But it did have the ball chiller https://preview.netcarshow.com/Jeep-Cherokee-1984-hd.jpg https://st.motortrend.com/uploads/sites/5/2016/05/1984-2001-Jeep-Cherokee-XJ-interior.jpg View Quote I wish I still had it. |

1969 VW Bug. It would be fun but not so safe knowing what we know now.
1999 Jeep Cherokee with a 4.0. That'd be cool. I got my current 2014 SUV back in 2016 from my mother in laws friend for like $4000 nothing wrong with it. The poor lady was just on her way out and she liked my son. I passed the good karma on to my stepdad when he wrecked his ride I sold the Jeep to him for $500 and a bottle of bourbon. He gave it to my little brother when he upgraded to a new Jeep. My little brother drove it with no license and it got impounded.

My first car was a 13 year old 1963 Dodge Dart 4 door with the 225 Slant Six and a push button automatic. Zero luxury items! Dependable as an anvil.
Driving that car for a year would not be a displeasure. I would love to have that car back. |

A 1970 something Chevy Luv pickup with a bench seat, my black lab and no cares. Hell yeah.
Like this but tan. Attached File |

Saab 900s.
Fun except manual transmissions suck in mountains and traffic which are abundant in my hood. |
1969 GTO. My 51 y/o self would enjoy it even more than the 16 y/o me. Now to just finish up the restoration on it.
Nope I miss it and would definitely try to get another as a daily

Quoted: I got my moms 1974 Monte Carlo. White, red interior. Same age as I was at 16, garage kept and only 62k miles! Mint condition. Comfortable ride, fun to open up that 4 barrel carburetor. View Quote I also learn how awesome/terrible posi-traction was on snowy roads. Those old cars were very comfortable and smooth. I also had a 74 Cutlass Supreme(my pride and joy) and an '81 then '82 4dr Cutlass Supremes. Those were very comfortable and smooth as well. They all shared the same 350 Rocket from my '74 which got a '70 455. |

68 road runner rebuilt by a 16 year old? I don't think it would last the full year without a whole lot of work. I rolled it after a few months, so I don't know what would be in store over the year.

I live in Florida. First car did not have A/C. So for 8-9 months it would be awful!! The other 3 or 4 would be AWESOME! My first car was 69 Camaro SS396 (L34, 350 Horsepower), 4 speed. Of course it had headers, glass packs, jacked in rear and Cragar wheels. Jensen 6x9 coaxial speakers blasting out Styx, Foreigner and whatever kind of rock on the fly 8-Track tape player!!
Interesting note: My girlfriend at the time used to sit on the hump straddling the gear shift. She used to like shifting the gears. Or, I'd shift and often my hand would slip off the shift knob when going in to fourth. I kept a pillow for her to sit on. Of course we didn't wear no stinking seat belt. It was still mostly a free country in the 70's and if you wanted to die from not wearing seat belts if was your Gosh Darn right as a free citizen of America!! |

If I could fix the shit that was broken when I sold it, then it would be awesome.
Early 80s Datsun 2wd pickup.
Was a total pos. I would rather walk, probably be safer than driving it. |
My first car was a 1957 Plymouth Savoy.
I still have it and drive it regularly. I would say that if I drove again every day the lack of air conditioning would prove wearisome. |
Awful. I had a beat to pieces junked up Cougar I bought for $200 from my friend in 78. I used to buy used tires at the local tire shop/gas station from Goober. I would run it like an overgrown go cart until my tire went bad usually about a week, and then go buy another tire or two, did I mention I had no insurance either.

It was an 81 Plymouth Reliant. I wouldn't wish that thing on anybody.

1978 Volvo 242 DL. Manual transmission.
I could totally drive it, especially now that I have money to restore it. |
I've been driving my first car for the past decade with no intention of stopping any time in the next decade.

Data mining thread.
For the record, it would be awesome to have my first car again. |

The roofliner had come unstuck, so I stuck it back up with thumbtacks so it looked like a plush sofa until you rolled the windows down and it started billowing in the wind. The engine would die sitting in traffic for too long on a hot day. Bought it for $1500 with 55,000 miles on it. Sold it 10,000 miles later for $2k. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. Attached File |

1970 Torino GT with a 351C,I wouldn't drive it like I stole it and throw a rod through the side of the block again
1986 El Camino with the 4.3l V6
I could definitely enjoy driving it again although I would probably spend quite a bit of time, money and effort sprucing it up. I would really get a kick out of driving it over and picking up my grandpa and taking him for a ride. It was his before it was mine. |
If I could drive it as it was when new, sure. I'd be in heaven.
If I had to drive it as it was when I was 16, I'd be pretty irritated at this point in my life. |
1970 VW Beetle. Rusted out floorboards, rusted out heater ducts.
It would suck, especially in the winter. I had that car only three months in the summer of 1980, then the engine seized up for some reason after driving it for eight hours straight. |
Fun, I loved that car. Would be a pain in the ass to get the kids in the back though
'93 Civic EX couple. Red, lowered, loud exhaust, subwoofer. Yeah... I had that car for a couple years and did my first engine swap to that car. |
1985 Cadillac Coupe DeVille...Baby Blue, leather interior, wood grain interior trim, 4100 V8 engine...25 mpg HWY....
Damn I miss that car! |

Quoted: I'm pretty close to literally doing that so I'll let you know in a year First car: 1969 Toyota FJ40, all stock Project car wrapping up this month and pretty much ready to DD: 1975 FJ40 Except for the power steering, power brakes, 5 speed, electrical things that all work and the 2.8l turbo diesel it's practically the same truck https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/59227/IMG_20201117_145658655_HDR-1693183.jpg View Quote Nice ride. |

White 1990 Honda Accord EX 5 Speed w/alloy wheels, sunroof, automatic seatbelt and maroon interior....it was actually a really great car...wouldn't mind driving one again in the least, with a few modern creature comforts added on at least

As long as the big screw driver needed to jump the starter solenoid is still tucked into the carpet next to the shifter, my '71 Chevy Vega would suck but it would get the job done.
1988 Dodge Shadow w/ manual transmission.
It would kinda suck, but I think I might actually appreciate the basic nature of that car. At least it had power steering and brakes! |
My first car that I got in 1993 was a 1986 Acura Integra. It was pretty fun. It might suck compared to today's compact coupes, but it was still fun. I wouldn't mind having to drive it today.
