It may have just been the exact style of Cross, but I’ve think there was a shield surrounding it. The other side of the magwell had the Latin words “In hoc signo vinces”, which conventionally has been translated to “In this sign thou shalt conquer”. That phrase is the Latin version of a Greek phrase that emperor Constantine says was revealed to him in the sky, along with a Cross, when he was marching his troops into battle. Afterwards he converted to Christianity and was the first Christian Roman Emperor, ended the persecution of Christians, built a church on the tomb of Jesus, convoked the First Council of Nicaea(one of the first major early Christian/Catholic church gatherings to agree upon a cohesive Catholic/Christian religious beliefs), etc. He also used the early Christian symbol, referred to as Chi-Rho, as his military battle standard. Pretty great combo for a crusades or templar AR15 lower. Great dual purpose as well if you are a Sigma Chi fraternity alumni/member, because the cross within a shield is the main part of the fraternity badge and logo and the phrase “In hoc signo vinces” is the fraternity motto. Looks like they are a little different than I remembered it. The Cross and “In Hoc Signo Vinces”(In this sign, you will conquer) are on the left side of the magwell. Right side has “SIGILLVM MILITVM XPISTI”, which is a Latin phrase used by the Knights Templar translated as “Seal of the Soldiers of Christ.  Attached File Attached File |

You guys are aware that the Christian kings started off every Crusade with a pogrom against the local Jews to top off their coffers before tangling with the Muslims, right? That’s one of the reasons Jews were prohibited from owning land and were forced to keep most of their assets liquid.
