Moraknives kick ass for field dressing. Use one per season and throw it away it’s so cheap.
Also, I look forward to this season’s “you aren’t a *real* hunter if you don’t hunt exactly how I hunt” threads. |

Great area. I used to work over that way years ago. Never hunted it. I hunt on friends land in Lancaster and Chesterfield counties. Out of state licenses are expensive though |

I’d consider it hunting. I think it’s great you can take one in your yard. You end up with moar food that doesn’t get spoiled.
You can’t do anything of the sort in kommifornastan. No tree stands no shooting within city limits no does no feeders no salt licks no baiting. Nice doe what did she dress out at? |
|
Sitting by a tree or up in a stand until a deer passes doesn't appeal to me but I suppose thats hunting.

I guess he figures game management and biologists are free , without license fees supporting research and wardens there would be squat as far as fish and game , licenses supports the hunting and fishing community

Quoted: You pull out your 15 year old cross bow, that you have not shot in 5 years. Shoot it 5 times to confirm it works and is zeroed with the new bolts you just bought. Then get done your work from home job, and walk 40 yards to the tree stand in the front yard. Where your close enough to still have wifi from the house, yet you still get a 35 yard shot a decent doe. BTW a mora knife kicked ass for field dressing.https://www.ar15.com/media/mediaFiles/497353/received_119785920355117_jpeg-2113423.JPG View Quote Attached File |

View Quote First around here they dont run very big as there is too much hunting, but every so often you will hear about a 175-200 buck, very rarely 250lbs. I would bet most of the real bucks ( not 1 or 2 yo ) are around 150 lbs dressed. Last year 5500 deer where taken in this county, second highest in the state. She was the bigger of the three that came thru, and I would guess dressed around 75-80 lbs or around 110-120 walking weight. I am pretty sure it was the mom to the two small ones with her.( did have milk ) |

OP, you didn't "hunt". You killed/harvest/etc.
Not saying anything bad. I've done a lot of "hunting" over the years and just hunting (for me) is like just fishing. Being outside is okay, but darned it I don't want to bring something home to eat. You did. Congratulations. |

Deer archery started here last weekend. Got my archery/x-bow addon/gun deer licenses last night. And because where we hunt at in WI, I got 2 bonus anterless tags for each archery and gun along with the 2 buck tags.
Will be my 4th yr bow hunting. Taking both my compound and x-bow. Never shot the x-bow since I got it from my dad when he died. For gun season I'm going "old school" on opening weekend. Taking my Win 94 .30-30 (dads old rifle. Been taking it out opening day every yr since he died), my Henry 45-70 and my Sharps 1874 Quigley 45-70. 2nd weekend my regular hunting rifle comes out (450 Bushmaster AR). |

I wish I could buy feed with birth control in it. They could call it whatever they want if they would allow people to hunt in my neighborhood to cut down on the population some.

If that's where the deer are then it would be foolish to go elsewhere just for the sake of going elsewhere.

Sounds more like executing deer in your yard, but it tastes the same regardless, so who cares.

I do think the whole “my way of killing an animal is right and everyone else is a pussy” thing is bizarre and slapdick though, because it is. |
