The nearby meetinghouse has 29 new SUVs parked behind it all the time. They don’t move. They’ve had them for several months now.
This is all readily visible from the nearby four lane divided parkway. The aren’t hidden from sight. I’m sure there’s a reason, it’s just something I’ve never seen before. Can our resident LDS folks suggest a reason? Attached File Attached File |

Where’s the nearest Toyota/Nissan dealer. Dealers near me used to store shit at the mall when they ran out of room. Kind of odd these days, but maybe they weren’t prepared for the shipment or something.

Probably replacing all the vehicles the missionaries use. They do this pretty regularly.
|
|
Probably for missionary’s use. Must be a big stake there. I think that the women and men here share a car.

Storage. Either for the church or someone is paying them to store the cars there.

Are you off Stacy east of 75? Saw the same thing a few weeks ago at an LDS church.

There is a small town near me with at least 2 fields full of trucks and jeeps just outside town. I'm assuming inventory storage, but why so much inventory during a car "shortage"?
Not many LDS near me, but it may be the same phenomenon. |

Quoted: Missionary fleet I would assume. View Quote Having served a mission A) suv's are a bit if an odd choice, as missionaries allowed a car only need room for 2-4 (we weren't allowed to give anyone else rides, so at most you, your companion and maybe another companionship in certain circumstances), and the mission president/mission home usually has a van for taking new/returning groups if missionaries to/from the airport and mission home B) I would expect extra resources to be kept at the mission home or mission offices, not a ward house or stake center (mission home is basically where the mission president lives with his wife/family and also where new missionaries bunk for a day or so before being assigned out to a trainer and their own apartment or family to stay with) C) I've not seen a mission where there was a car for every companionship, or even a large minority of them. In mine, the only ones with a car besides the handful of elderly couples and the president were his assistants and one other companionship that had a very large area to cover. Most other missionaries I knew were in similar circumstances. |

Don't require that down here. |

They even bought two Nissans. Something must really be going on.

Local Catholic church has a half dozen that popped up about a week ago. All backed in nice and neat. I'm assuming its for Armageddon or some lease program they have is coming to an end and these are the replacement vehicles.
Or they are getting paid to store them. Or they are full of cocaine. |

Wives can’t be jealous of each other if they all drive the same car.

Those are technicals in the bad days to come. Mormans always keep that thang on them and always have a wagon ready to GTFO whenever shit turns sideways.

Came to post this. Good job P400! |

Might be where the local mission is storing their mission vehicles. Theoretical on my part I've been out of the church for 13 years and served a mission that was walking only.

They're all plated, so it's unlikely they're from a dealership.
|
|
Not sure of the current chip shortage - but manufacturers were shipping out incomplete cars. It is entirely possible that these are missing something that it will be easy for a dealer to add when the chip becomes available. Till then, lots less hassle at the dealership to not have them sitting on site and not for sale.
Ok, that excuse does not really hold up well to plated vehicles. |

Quoted: Missionary fleet I would assume. View Quote Probably this. Lived across from a guy who housed 2 missionaries constantly. One pair would cycle out and the next pair would show up. All year. Talked to him once and we got into WTF is up with the missionaries at his place. Tells me they house them and they are from all over the world. Ask him about who pays for the rental car as that has to get expensive. He says the church owns the cars they drive. |

Quoted: It’s happening. View Quote Exactly. From the ruble of the coming times will rise a culture that values family, morals, preparation, education, and self sufficiency. You may not like it, But the Mormon Hegemony will be the closest thing to traditional American values and culture at its peak that we can hope for. |
