Why do you have to be able to take it after drinking alcohol?

'Cause every once in a while I like a drink and sometimes end up with headaches (while still inebriated)!

Truthfully, that's not a big deal. But I imagine if it can't be taken with alcohol, you still have the same liver dangers as acetaminophen.

This really is just a thread about having an all purpose pain reliever around. It's not for a specific chronic pain. Ibuprofen used to be my go to. But now I'm stuck with the acetaminophen which hast's own issues and is not as effective.

But I think I've got my answer now. There were a few suggestions that fit the criteria, but none of them seem to be backed up by evidence. And anything with opiates is not allowed at work.

Just a guess but:

Alcohol + acetaminophen  =  liver damage.

Read about this the other day.   Looks like there are some new concerns about use of non aspirin NSAIDs.  Here's a link to a story on Web MD:

If you're looking for an anti-imflammatory drug that isn't a non-steroidal, then that would be steroids.

Your choice is basically tylenol.

Ask your Doctor.....

Tylenol works for me YMMV

They have long time release stuff too but watch the dosage
And a LOT of meds have Tylenol in them so watch that too
